Long story short I purchased a VP drum just over half full of e85 from a friend back in October 2013. I used it for a few months (track only car) so maybe 15 gallons at most were used. A rod decided to no longer be a team player and exited stage right. I put the cover over the car for the remainder of winter and 2 weeks ago began the tear down. Well today I decided I would test it out and see how much the ethanol content had depreciated over the months and this is what it came out to



91%!!! It has been sealed in the metal VP drum the entire time sitting in my garage on a wooden pallet. I'm talking with the place of origin right now to see if it was mixed with anything or just straight E85.

I think the big issue is water uptake, but that's easily handled with a well-sealed container.
