Here is what Evo4Mad wrote in regards to using a wideband with it:

So it seems that you must be using either a serial, RS232 port or if you're using a USB port, then you need to use a virtual com port driver and assign it COM1.

Flame suit on, how exactly does the knock sum work? And what value does it need reach to pull timing?

Thanks

I think just 1 and it will pull timing.

Does the plx have an adjustable analog output.

Find your USB serial device in device manager, double-click on it and re-assign it to Com1.

From another thread:

1 count = no timing pulled unless the knock continues for a prolonged period of time.
2 counts = no timing pulled if it happens for a VERY short time, longer then that and a degree or two will be pulled.
3 counts or more and at least 2 degrees of timing get pulled instantly.

More knock then that I don't recall how much timing was pulled because I was looking at other parts of the map to figure out which cells to modify in order to eliminate it.

Man, that's as much as I was getting. However, I think my knock is from too high of boost and bad gas...

Dam and I get scared of 1 count. I am certain though 1 count pulls timing, unless ecu is configured otherwise, because when I had 1 count my timing was 6,6,6,4,6,6,7

This is the one thing most tuners overlook.. They spend all their time tuning for WOT dyno runs, but forget to tune the part throttle higher load, and lower load settings.. This is where most of your driving ends up and when the car will feel nicest when driving every day..

This is why smooth transitions between cells is important, then when you target your part throttle loads and make adjustments, you can smooth transitions to those changes, and so on, until you get a nice smoothly transitioning map.. I've seen a few maps with large jumps in timing, I call it "Stepping" that trigger knock as the load jumps back and forth between two cells with a big jump..

I almost always street tune my car, even after dyno tuning for peak power if its a map that I will driving on every day.. If its a track only map, I just focus on the path through the map and then quickly smooth it for transitions in lower loads..
