RPM hang up

I am using a xede piggy back, but recently have used ECU flash to raise the neutral RPM from 5000 to 6000. The problem I noticed today is when I boost half throttle ( have not tired full throttle) to bout 4500-5500 RPM the rpm hangs in for a while when it is out of gear and neutral coasting. I'm talking about at least 3-5 sec. But if I rev the engine couple of times it drops back down. I never really notice this with the xede in the past. It seems that I should up after I changed the RPM to 6000 instead of the factory 5000. Also I did not disconnect the swith either.

It could be a EM /flash problem, but before you look into that you need to know that the 05+ EVOs have a delayed RPM hang and slow RPM decel that is suppose to help achive lower emissions. It stops at/below 3500RPM.
I have experianced the RPM hang on both my 05 VIII and my IX, but it never lasted 3-5 second.

First, go out and duplicate the RPM hang, then let it slowly decel and see if it stops at 3500RPM. If it does it probably the emissions thing.

If that dont work and you think its the ECUflash, then flash back to stock and try to duplicate it.

Try lowering Desired ISCV initial step position table. 03 evos have much lower numbers. you might want to put similiar numbers from 03 table to 05 table.

I'm not sure what your issue is, but hopefully its just a minor setting..

But if what you said is true about the 05 table compared to the 03, It was likely to prevent the stalling you might get with an aftermarket intake if you give it gas, then let off (sudden stop after moving a bit)

Damned if you do, Damned if you dont.. I would still go over your car, possibly put your stock ROM back on and see if thats what is causing it..

However,

There is none. Its for emissions and can't be changed (yet, maybe later).

EDIT: or try what taenaive said.

I dont think that its an emision thing as the car didnt do it before the flash. So something is the flash is causing it. Its not like my car will blow up or anything but its annoying non the less.
