I would try to locate the stock rom and compare the two. also check to see if there is a MBC somewhere hidden. As for the rev limit, you might want to check your lower clutch switch. See if it was unplugged or adjusted improperly.

Just read through the whole thread & see a few say that anything over 28.8 is going to just read 28.8 & some say you can go up to 30.0 max. My question is this - Under MIVEC Intake Advance Max it shows 28.8 if I change that to a different number will that has any affect at all? Could this be some kind of a limiter for MIVEC?

you say High load, what about low loads?
and I cant really see meth/water MIVEC being same as race gas MIVEC since there is huge temperature difference between the two, combustion rate and properties post combustion.
intuition tells me that both cant be the same, but as we all know intuition is not always right.
