Not really. The EIP dyno, gruppe-s, and vishnu dynos all put down similar numbers. 300whp on any of them on 91 is BIG. 330-340 on a dyno jet

Stock IXs throw down 230-235 on the EIP and GS dynos, his is obviously a high flier at 245. The highest i have seen on the GS is 241 (wilson1s MR)

nice numbers ... but isn't 23 psi a little too much boost without a TBE? I guess if 23 psi is just a spike you should be fine, but if you have the mbc set at 23 that probably too high. but anyways thats a good tune especially if you have 0 knocks.

I paid $550- and I think I got my money's worth. I am certainly happy with the power, and I learned a lot. Paul was quite patient, explained a lot of tuning principles, has a cute dog, and was very careful with the car. :)

Well, yes. I agree with you in general. But with EGTs not abnormally high, a fair amount of taper (23@4000, 22.5@5000, 22.5@5900, 20@6000, 18.2@7300), and careful monitoring of knock and AFR, I think I'm pretty safe. I recognize the potential for problems with blowing a head gasket, the turbo's seals, etc., but I have faith in Mitsu's sturdy little engine. EDIT: there are a lot of folks running harder than I am on essentially the same motor.

BASE TUNED
WTQ 220.9 @4000 293.8 @4250
WHP 245.9 @6500 290.2 @6000

Wow - those are nice numbers just for an essentially stock tune O.o

You must have a strong ix!

That's probably a good thing to keep knock down to nill when it's that hot again out on the road. It was a scorcher that's for sure.

^ a TBE won't allow you to safely boost more. running 23psi and using a stock exhaust have nothing to do with eachother

when you get a chance please post the dyno graph...

its interesting you're seeing as much hp as torque, something contrary to what I typically see on moded evos (usually 20lb torque more).

i wish the MDynos had avg torque / hp readouts like the Dynojets do...

You sure? I would think the stock exhaust bottleneck + flowing more exhaust gas + leaner mixture = higher manifold temps = higher heat soak = more prone to knock/warping/failure in general...

They do.

Btw, usually the Trq falls off below HP the more power the car gets with 4G63T's.

actually most if not all the mustang dyno's give peak/average/and low numbers. plus peak boost, etc.

Thank you both- I will keep an eye on things. Perhaps now that I've started modding, my life is over.

Thank you Paul @ EIP, and his guys who bought me lunch! (I wish NCE weren't down right now.)

Seems like your car was a "dog" from the factory.
