ECUFlash with Apple MacBook
I think I have read what was previously posted -

I have a Intel MacBook running Parallels. I got the Tactrix cable to work by installing the FTDIUSBSerialDriver.pkg driver under OS X. Reboot, start Parallels, it will detect the cable (cancel WinXP driver install), install ECUFlash and it will work. I can email you this driver if you can't find it. (email to drmerl2000@yahoo.com)
If you run into a problem with ECUFlash saying no driver installed, and you see the yellow question mark in the hardware section of WinXP after you get a successful connect - Update the driver, you dont have to do a reinstall of the software. Seems that ECUFlash and Evoscan can put the driver in an awkward position at times - WinXP will report the USB is already in use.
My problem is after connecting the cables, getting a valid USB driver response in ECUFlash, beginning a ROM download (with ignition in ON) ECUFlash will stop after about 10 seconds saying connection lost. What am I doing wrong or has another MacBook user run into this?
Please keep this thread related ONLY to OS X and the MacBook, I'm well aware that I can use a PC based laptop. Thanx!

Bootcamp with ECUFlash
I'm wondering if the time out issue is hardware related or OS related.
If I have to I will try out Bootcamp, but Parallels should give the same performance (just about chip speed) with OS X running.
Who else is running ECUFlash with Parallels? Or has a confirmed ECUFlash works on Apple hardware with BootCamp?

Bootcamp is cool but with Parallels, it automatically allocates more disk space when needed. Also, you dont lose much peformance either when running the emulator. Works like a charm though.
Cant wait to get myself a MacBook Pro to play with ECU Flash. Virtual PC on a PowerPC G4 aint cuttin it.

I'm confused. Which FTDIUSBSerialDriver.pkg are you using? The one I posted, or the official one? I shouldn't work with ecuflash, even through parallels. EcuFlash requies the D2xx drivers and their are none for OS X yet.

os x usb driver
I googled the driver. I don't remember which site I got it from, but I had to search around for a while. I'm pretty sure it's not the one you posted. I think I got it from a hardware site.
Hmm, I do remember something about version issues. I can email you this version if you like.
Unless you really need to have hardware video, the $1099 MacBook rocks!

I've just confirmed that the EcuFlash _does_ work with the tactrix cable on a windows+parallels+OSX on my macbook pro.
Remember that you can't use the OS X FTDI drivers, you must use the windows one that colby packages with Ecuflash.

Although my reply is offtopic.. I found a similar combination works for Linux.. Windows XP or 2000 in VMWare, windows drivers in VMWare, and any version of Linux that supports USB (so VMWare recognizes it)
