Here is the section from the relevant timing map:

Code:
           240 260 280 300
3000 -2 -3 -3 -4
3500 2 0 -1 -2
The interpolated values at 3200 rpm are: -0.4, -1.4, -2.2, -3.2.

I consistently hit -2 deg and sometimes -3 deg across 3000-3200 rpm with no knock in that rpm range. I have many logs showing this. I tinkered quite a bit with the logging order of IPW, AFRMAP, and battery voltage so that the calc load value was +/- 5 points of the ECU load for values below 159. I'm confident in saying that I'm hitting 270-280 load at 3200 rpm. I'm at 300 ft elevation. 4th gear from 2500-7000 rpm for the logs.

Just quoting the FSM here so it's not my uneducated opinion. "ECM advances timing (load decrease) at higher altitudes for more performance"

Also, engines are less prone to knock up thar in them hills which allow the timing to accomidate for the drop in power at elevations

03 Evo 8: 3rd gear pull

1* @ 3969 rpm; load cal = 262
17* @ 6906 rpm; load cal = 187
18* @ 7100 rpm; load cal = 185

Zero knock.

4th gear explains the higher loads...

Mine are 3rd gear loads (290-300) at peak torque

Three different logs, peak Torque

TPS...RPM......AFR....Knock..Timing...Load
100...3718...11.70...2........-1..........289 - Has since been dialed in correctly
100...3688...11.20...0........0...........303
100...3469...11.88...0........0...........293

Peak torque varying cause I started at different RPMs..

According to evoscan .97 I'm also crossing 300 load around peak torque in 3rd gear. In 3rd I see peak loadcalcs of around 300 falling off to around 215 at redline. In fourth gear I've seen as high as 340 at peak torque. I don't think those loadcalcs are accurate.

Are you injectors stock or larger? If so it would throw the calc off.
