OT: does Al Minhad (sorry if mispelled) still exist? Lived there for a year

 

Several tuners will work with you remotely....Just send them log files and they will tweak the flash until it is rock solid. I would HIGHLY recommend John @ Jestrtuning.....

Hi guys, after much reading around, I've decided to get Jestr to tune my car with the M1 flash. Sent him the ROM two days back, and now excitedly waiting for the reflash to come back

 

If you buy me a ticket for Airflight to Dubai and back, i can tune your car for free

The Jestr flash is ready, I've paid, and now just waiting for him to mail it to me. I've been waiting the whole day for it, and now just sitting in the office (at 8 pm) waiting for the flash in my mailbox....

the excitement is KILLING me....

 

I mail flashed with Works.. Happy with the results so far, pulling 24psi spike down to 22 all the way all the gears..

Got my reflash back from Jestr and loaded it last night. Amazing stuff. I'm boosting to 1.4 bar easily and holding at 1.30 to 1.35 bars with better power on pre-boost. Boost also seems to be coming on more quickly. While the difference is not as apparent as when I got the downpipe, decat, intake and exhaust done, it is definitely noticeable.

For the US$52 I paid, nothing to complain about, except about the men in green being more aggressive with tuned cars these days

No, just that policemen here have a green uniform.

Just got my walbro GSS342 fuel pump installed, and strangely, it feels like the car boosts more aggressively. not sure if it is a placebo effect, but boost still spikes at 1.4 bar and holds at 1.35. Strange.

Jestr, if you are reading this, let me know if I should expect any change in behaviour/performance.

 

OT continued - spent a year out there in 90 -91, real nice place, buitiful beach, cool mall and good food. But I allways wondered what is that green stuff some people chew? I tried some but it was not much unlike snuff. Anyone know?

Anyhow, you would likely notice a change in car behavior - like faster. The timing and fuel maps were changed to accomidate a more strict reutine of high oct gas (never use crappy 87, 89, or even 91) and agressive driving.

I never used the flash myself but only see good review

 

yes, Dubai is a beautiful place. Only thing to complain about these days is the skyrocketing rent and the police clampdown on anything that they think can move fast and doesn't look stock. A bit Gestapo, and I'm hoping it's just a fad.

Not sure what the green stuff is that you're referring to, but I know that gum is really popular with everyone here.

And yes, I noticed the car goes faster now. Seems to have kicked in after a couple of hours of slightly enthusiastic driving. Anything past half throttle now goes like stink. Very good stuff.

Next up: got to find out whether I am running the 10.5% hotside or the 9.8T from the older Evos. Never did get around to figuring that out....
