High & Low Octane Fuel Map Question...

I don't know why it has taken me this long to notice but why in the stock OEM fuel maps for a '05 MR is the Low octane fuel map leaner than the High Octane fuel map? Shouldn't it be the opposite?

Look at the Low Octane Timing Map and you will see that timing has been significantly reduced, thus allowing for a leaner burn....That said, looking at your maps (very hard to read), it looks like the low octane is richer than the high (numbers are lower)....So you likely have timing being pulled and running richer when you are in the failsafe modes...

The lower the number, the richer.

I guess I was only looking at the higher load higher rpm values, I see that you both are right, so my initial idea on the Hi and Low was correct; Hi is leaner and Low is richer.
