Spot on, cheers. I couldnt have explained it any better hehe.

Ran one last test on gear dependancy:
100% on all cells in Wastegate duty on maps 1 & 2; 30% in all cells on map #3.
159.4 for all cells in BDEL maps 1 & 2; 30 for all cells in map #3.
In Boost Error I set all cells from 0 to negative -20 @ zero correction and from 2.5 to 19.8 @ -20%. ...

zero change in boost in 5th & 6th gears.

might want to try just map 1 and 2 then dus10 (see https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ight=wastegate for evo8 application)...seems evo 8's and 9's are differing from all accounts.

ST / DUS -- Any updates? I do think map 3 controls 5th and 6th gear in my car, but unsure if map 1 controls 1st and 2nd...In 1st and 2nd, I am not able to get the 25 psi I get in 5th / 6th (at least yet).....

I would guess that is due to the engine not being loaded as much in 1st and 2nd gear.

I will say the the start duty I have in 2nd gear on the AVC-R is only 1% duty (on top of the usual 63 or 64% midrange). On the other gears I have nothing. Every gear peaks just above target boost when you snap open the throttle anywhere from 3500-5500 RPM. Previously I had 3,2,1,0,-1 for gears 2-6 for start duty, but I've found that it results in higher peaks the lower gear you're in. So maybe gear judge on a stock turbo Evo is not really that necessary since the turbo is so responsive it doesn't really need encouragement to spool even in 2nd gear. Maybe first would, but on my road car I don't tend to abuse 1st gear.

Any update on whether MWGDC is gear dependent on the IXs?

Def not gear dependent on the VIII. I've left my # 3 BDEL map super low and the #3 MWGDC @ 30 for all cells and the car has yet to use those maps.

My question is...
If the turbo spools off of the exhaust, what keeps it from maxing out boost in 1st or 2nd gear at it's usual peak boost rpm number? I have my load targets set obnoxiously high and it may hit 14psi in 1st and 17psi in 2nd. What keeps it from maxing out?

Time and sufficient engine load spool up the turbo. I've not played with 1st, but in 2nd I can hit 25 PSI without any problems at all using an AVC-R, stock actuator, stock turbo, exhaust etc. It doesn't appear to need silly duty to do so compared with the other gears, I need to fiddle more with the factory boost control.

Any updates on MWGDC tables for the 9's? Has anyone else verified that they refer to 1st/ 2nd, 3rd/4th, and 5th/6th gear? Thanks

Any updates?

I'm finally going to mess around with the tune this weekend...nothing drastic, just logging and then seeing where I can improve.

What loadcalc values are you seeing at 25.5psi (evoscan 1.29a)? We've had some cold weather and my car (still has both factory boost pills in it) is spiking into the 280-300 loadcalc although that timing is actually in my 260-280 columns so I think the load calcs are a little off. Either way I would like to get these spikes eliminated and raise the boost from 5000-redline. Please advise or show me what you guys are running to get there. Also, obvioulsy you can run over 19psi with the boost pills in the hoses unless for some reason my car didnt have them to begin with or I've got a leak in the boost solenoids or hoses that attach them to the turbo. My car was purchased November 2005,

Evo IX MR, My mods, Concept G Blue TBE w/test pipe, Works Drop-in, AEM Uego WB, AEM Tru-boost (solenoid not connected right now, running on stock BCS). Self tuned.

Oh yea, if someone would like to review my logs that would be great too. I'm going to post my maps in a separate post for review. I've posted a log from last night.

The real load in the midrange for about 25.5 PSI would indeed be about 270 on standard turbo and induction.
