Tried flashing my 2015 evo x gsr to a stock rom but I get an error saying tried to write to protected areas, Is there something I am missing? Had no issues with a 2011 gsr.

X's are notorious for flashing issues, this guide should help you out.

Also there is a bit about a registry mod that allows ecuflash to ignore protected memory areas here:

http://tephra.it/v3/

scroll down to "ECUFLASH Support". I don't now if this will work for you but might be worth a shot.

Ecu rom questions

Hello I'm new to tuning my evo I'm trying to convert to flexfuel 91pump and e85. My Rom ID is 94170015 can I get a flex fuel tune with that ROM using free fuel or can I switch roms from 94170015 to 9653E706? I've tried searching and have not found a solid answer. Thanks in advance

Hi all - really, really long shot here. Evoscan "forums" link sends me here!

Wifey's car is a current model Eclipse Cross. Engine is a 1.5l turbo, Direct and port injected "4B40" - it drives quite well (far better than the previous 2.4 n/a offerings) but curiosity has the better of me given how well any turbo mitsi responds to a tune.

Not entirely willing to plug in my tactrix given the stories of other models getting bricked just from an ECU read - has anyone had any experience with this model? There's a couple of european tuning outfits offering "chips" but not keen to go that way if I can DIY it instead

If i'm simply upgrading from stock injectors to 1000cc and mods are intake and exhaust, does EcuFlash have basic maps for that, or do you need to customize everything? The Hondata i have used had scaling already loaded for certain injector sizes.

If its a common injector there will likely be known good scalings posted by other members you can just copy.

Ok, thank you for the responses. Just wanted to be sure before i spent the money. I will get a proper tune, but to get me up and running it would be great if i can use the tactrix and ecuflash.

Yes those are injector scalings that you put into your ROM via ecuflash. No idea if those are the ones you need though, that depends on what injectors you have.

Cool those should get you pretty close at least. You still need a tune though because there are a bunch of hard coded Pulse width values that need adjusting.

Yea, i plan on getting a tune, just would rather drive it there instead of paying for more work.

Those are relatively small injectors so scalings should get you there. Other mods you may do at the same time may have an effect as well though.
