Tuned on 100 octane/evoscan log??

I was told that my stock DP was causing the extra knock and since we turned up the boost we were making more heat the stock DP was restricking my car!! So I was told that if I install my 3'DP the knock shouldn't do as bad???????
PLEASE READ MY LOG,,,,,,THANKS,

Hi Anthony.

Adding a 3 inch downpipe over the stock unit after being tuned for the stock unit will cause potential problems. Your boost may be off along with your AFR's during MBT and spool up. The car needs to be tweaked a little bit to accommodate for this new airflow increase.

Ant, the timing looks a little high from 6K on up. Its a stock appearing timing map (at that point) and I think thats the only issue. IX's dont seem to need nor like as much timing up top as a DSM 4G or even an VIII 4G63. Just my observation. You really need to log airflow in Hz as well, it makes it easy to calculate load (or include calculated load for that matter). The bit of peak torque knock that occurs isnt really anything to worry about, 1 knock shows its aggressive for the rest of your mods.

John

logs _should_ be permitted.

Others can gain some useful insight when looking at these logs.

ECU FLASH 100 OCTANE....
A few issues:

1. Was the tune done for 91 octane gas and then you added 100 octane to see if the knock would go away?

2. If you added 100 octane to see if your knock would go away and it did NOT, then more than likely that is phantom knock.

3. Your car is running 18-20* timing from 7k on. Was this done because your car was tuned for 100 octane? A stock 9 usually runs a max of 15-17* in the 7k+ rpm range. It is possible that you timing was advanced since it was a 100 octane tune, but on my car (an 8) the timing was left stock for my 100 octane tune.

Hi Naji,
The car was tuned for 100 octane. The main thing here is that the owner got the car tuned with a stock downpipe and a 3 inch catback. He then swapped out the stock dp with the 3 inch unit to complete his 3 inch TBE and then logged it.

It does look slightly sensitive up top...nothing some minor changes wont fix once he finishes upgrading.
