Just put a catch on that side too, I've had a catch there for over a year (after cleaning all the crud) and my cold duct is clean

if that was directed at me, because I've checked mine to verify it doesn't leak, and you said yours leaks. I just had mine off the car again (I should have take my camera with me) to see if it indeed was a ball inside, but it does look more like a cylinder vs. a ball.
Actually I just checked it again when it was off the car, and it holds fine to 30 psi. I'd get you an action shot but it's already back on the car, and I'm not going to ask the wife to take a picture of me holding a bicycle pump, gauge and pcv valve on a Saturday morning. Here's my contraption for checking wastegate actuators, driving signals to boost gauges, checking for tubing leaks, BOV actuation, etc. Now I can PCV valves to the list!

Holy thread resurrection Batman!
I sold my Evo shortly after my daughter was born so around 2011! Actually sold it to a guy on the forums here from West VA.
Since then I picked up a Ford Raptor and now this:
This thing is a hell of a fun car to drive. Just got it custom tuned and it really opened the car up.
Still see some nicely modded Evo's around here mostly X but have seen some IX's.
Kind of sad they aren't making them anymore.
