36 counts of knock as soon as gas is touched and randomly...
For some backround I had my car sitting for over 2 months...I sent out the tranny and transfer case to shepherd racing...this past weekend I put the car back together and started up the car...started on the first try but when I went out for a test drive it was very very sluggish...I didn't think much of it so I drove around a bit and it didn't get any better...so I did some logs which are posted below and discovered that the car is pulling massive timing across the board...I tried several maps, even back to the stocker and all do the same thing...I have the basic bolt ons plus the UTEC, XS engineering ignition amplifier and 8 series plugs...any help would be great...next I was going to try and tune on the UTEC and see if the problem cleared up...

is the car sluggish because of the timing being retarded due to the knock sensor or is it sluggish witout there being any knock counts?
do you hear any knock?
phantom knock due to new driveline components, fluids? just trying to think what maybe causing the knock counts.......
be sure the knock sensor wire didnt get damaged during the swap?
good luck

My first thought was some sort of damage to the knock sensor or associated wiring. Some phantom knock due to the new driveline components is possible, but 36 counts is very unlikely.

did mice build a nest in your intake track? ask me how i know.... (it was in my VW rabbit after sitting for an entire winter)
on a more serious note, do you have a wideband hooked up? what are the a/f readings showing?

Well, it could just be something unrelated to the R&R went out on you, like an injector or something. Pull the plugs and get a look at the piston tops to make sure they are uniform in color.
I would also tend to think it was something related to the install (I just did my transfer case and installed a new twin disk this past weekend and can see how a wire could easily get pinched or a motor mount bolt forgotten about). Check all the motor mounts and make sure they are tight so the motor is not shifting around and causing the downpipe to hit anything.
Also try running some race gas to see if this is real knock or phantom knock so at least you know what direction to take (something loose and hitting / vibrating or a fuel system failure)
