Remember this is on 100 octane. It's actually about what I am running at 3500 on 91 octane as well, but with almost 4 more psi.

Yea, the 9's are really sensitive to max timing. 15 is actually alot more than what I am used to on 9's since you are on 93 I believe. I usually tune the 91 octane 9's to about 10-13* max. Depending on mods of course.

93 PON IX timing, max knock count up to 3 (usually 0/1 occasionally 2 rarely 3).

I hope I'm not polluting your thread Bryan, but this is a great thread to discuss ignition timing styles/methods rather than being 8 or 9 specific.

Of course not, this is the kind of discussion I was hoping would happen.

Yea, that's way more timing up top than I can run on 9's on 91 octane here.

Some cars respond well to the way you have done your timing, some seem to not like it so much.

I see you got some skills..the transitions in the map are so smooth like a baby's bottom. Your fuel map looks just like mine just I have more high 9's than you to get me in the 11.0 to 11.5 afr

I have lean spool turned off so the map will look leaner than if it was still on.

Thats what I meant is that its 3* at 3500 and 25psi on 100, where I am at 3*/3500 and 25psi on 93. I checked my ignition map (you have one still I think to look at) and it wasnt 15* till fairly high rpm. You might not have the latest one I am using but what you have should be pretty close.

Yea. My car is a little sensitive to ignition timing at 3500. I believe it's because of my cam gear settings and how fast and hard my car spools. Still makes good torque though.

Hey Bryan - care to comment a little bit on why you rescaled the rpm axis in the areas that you did?

Sure, just to get some fine tuning in some sensitive areas on my car. I used to have 5000 5250 5500 instead of 6500 6750 because on pump 5-5500 was sensitive. With my current mods it moved up a little.

2 questions for ya Bryan.
1. What color scheme is that? I've always tried to figure that out lol
2. With your injector scaling, your AFR is still about 1.5 higher than your map? Are you satisfied with that scaling?

Hey,

1. Color scheme is Volcano

2. Scaling is pretty much spot on with fuel trims so it's correct. Fuel map numbers don't really matter to me as I only use the numbers for smoothing and not to calculate actual AFR off them.

Bryan -- Why are you (and a lot of folks in Cali.) running 720cc injectors? I believe that with my current tune, I am close to running out of injector and wonder if the bigger injector is needed for 91 oct. or if it just gives you a more precise injection? Thanks

where are u ending up loadsite-wise at high rpm?

I can run about 18 degrees uptop typically on the ix's on 92 we do...

curious...
