Running fuel map in RAM - tested and working

I have been working further on adding custom protcols to our MUT logging.

Now we have - set address, set data, read byte, write byte, read word, read word with post increment, copy fuel map from ROM to RAM.

So I am presently running my Evo 9 fuel map out of RAM all the time. It runs normally but using command line instructions I can alter the fuel map with the engine running. The other maps will come soon.

The logger writers will hopefully be able to come up with a nice PC side GUI to get this going.

Nothing is released to end users yet as it is as user unfriendly as it could be!

I will put the code up on aktivematrix.

OMG. Real-time tuning. We're getting closer to being able to switch maps on the fly, and on-road tuning without having to turn off the engine and start it up again 1 minute later.

Can't wait to get my hands on the new ECUFlash

Just an update on the logger front, I got multibyte reads and writes working on demand. I'm going to add a request string queue for the time being so you can stuff a bunch of requests and get responses sequentially before it continues to the next logger requestID

It will serve two purposes, 1 for testing these new features, and 2, as a function to enable/disable actuators and tests that already exist as we learn more of them.

Incredible!

Perhaps someday I won't ever have to trial and error change 10 cells ea, one at a time, just to smooth one little dip in A:F again

Thanks

More than likely you will not be able to switch an entire map on the fly just alter or make adjustments. I dont know of any engine management using the stock ecu switching maps on the fly.

the UTEC is the only thing that "qualifies" but its offtopic for this thread.

There is a patch that Bez was working on that you can use a spare input to shift the octane number with a potentiometer , this would essentially allow you to run one map in your low octane maps, and another map in your high octane maps. Not totally comfortable with that as a solution though. I've actually been looking at this patch and a GM Fuel composition sensor to allow true "flex fuel" capabilities for E85/Gasoline.

This is great news. Any screenshots of it in action?
