Our ECUs can have eight sets of maps...

I will probably just implement a manual switching type setup, although on the USDM's they don't have the ICS button which I am currently using - guess I will have to think of another input
Manual is better from my point of view because then the driver has to be aware of the change - Thus less chance of error (ie switching to your C16 map while on 91 oct while driving up a steep hill... lol)

With the manual button being used to switch maps, when can these be switched? How is the driver notified of the switch (prevent it from being switched by accident)? How are these secondary maps accessed and tuned? Will additional tables be added to EcuFlash? Sorry for all the questions, but I very curious about this setup.

at the moment my map switch is enabled when the auto button is ON, RPM=0 and IGN=ON, then you use the TPS to select which maps you want.
notification of which map is used is via the ICS lamp in the dash - slow flashing indicates you are running on the alternate map.
tuning is done via EcuFlash we just copy the maps we want switched and XML is provided.
I want to change the activation method as its a PITA at the moment - I am thinking of doing a time calculation (similar to Valet) but on the Auto ICS button... I will probably have protection so you can switch maps when rpm > 3000 or load > 100
