The lower the idle, the lower closer the pressure will be to zero. -8 to -9 psi is typical for 850 rpm. If your car is idling below that, the pressure could be less. Also, I think aftermarket cams can affect the pressure at idle

My idle is high for some reason could be due to the bad maf wont know for sure till tuesday.

As for cams i have 272 hks I&E cams, hks suction reloaded intake, hks evc, hks tbe, all of this was bought with the car plus a boost gauge and old dyno flash tune. Not sure still what else is done to it. They said there was 10k invested by previous owner but who knows.

Wait what?

Your reads (logs) below 0? Awww... what did I screw up? I don't get below zero values in the logs.

(logworks)

But seems to read normal up to 26psi? I just do not get any values below 0. It just is not there at all.

Definitely reads negative during cruise. If I'm at high rpm and take my foot off the throttle, I'll see almost -12 psi. Maybe you placed limits on the formula readout range in Logworks?

What should be in the protocols. xml for Logworks? I'd like to check my work.

Looking at it, I'm set at 0 & 30 for the min and max by the look of it. Probably the problem. What should be the "min" ?
<datachannel id="#38" name="JDM Map Sensor" selected="1" units="PSI" min="0" max="30" expr="(x*0.19347)-14.2" type="0"/>
Or is this just wrong?

Set the min to -15. That will cover the entire vacuum range.

Thanks boss. Will that change the scale in comparison to what I have been seeing? Like by starting at "0" have I skewed the output scale? Or is it just not showing me values below "0".

Just wondering.

Guess I'll go for a log and see. I haven't changed the boost since my last trip out logging.

Only widens the window. No change to the values above 0, so you are good to go.

Yep it works. Have to go in the channel portion and set the min to -15 as well. Cool thanks!

So what all was changed in the updated instructions? I'm just trying to get a gage for weather I should fix everything up for better boost control now or
wait until the tephra 5.8 is out to do it....

So I tried searching around in this thread, but is the USDM Evo X MAP sensor the same as the JDM MAP sensor that mrfred sells?

Yep, sure is. Speed Element (EvoM vendor) is now selling JDM MAP sensors for me. They should have a very good price.
