Quick question, I just got my map sensor and am in the process of doing the rom changes (88590015). At the last section where it says to disable the EGR test you need to change ECU Periphery2 from EFDF to EDDF...but when I open my periphery2 it shows 0001 instead of EFDF...everything else shows up like the instruction says so I just want to be sure this is ok before I move on.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Oh ok, I guess I haven't gotten to that part yet...need to do a search to find those periphery tables.
So when I do it that way would I just leave the value that's in the periphery2 as is?

The value in periphery 2 (which is the FCA bits) will change when you change the FCA bit 9 via blobbits. It will change the 0xXXXX hex value because they are pointing to the same thing, just displaying it in a different way.
I personally would not completely disable the EGR via FAA bit 11 as applaud suggested, but that is my personal preference. If things are working fine with the EGR enabled then it may be OK to just leave it.
Note that disabling the EGR test will prevent any CELs, but may not pass emissions testing if that is an issue for you. If you have to do emissions testing you may want to leave it enabled and just clear the code when it comes up (or apply the new patch to "fool" the system).

well here in Jamaica we don't have any emissions tests...so if changing the FAA bit 11 to 1 totally disables the EGR then what does changine the FCA bit 9 to 0 do?
Appauldd - even though you said its the old way, but would I need to get all these periphery tables defined if I just want to disable the test, or can I just do it from changing periphery2 to EDDF?

EDIT:
Oh i totally understand what your saying now. I'm talking about the FAA bits and your talking about the FCA bits.

As Mr Turco said, setting FCA bit9 = 0 will disable the EGR OBD-II test, and it will show up as "Not Supported" on an OBD scanner. As far as I know, "Not Supported" is a perfectly acceptable (while "Not Complete" or "Not Ready" is unacceptable). If you run a scanner on your car now, you'll see that there are several tests that are "Not Supported" with a completely stock ROM.
Yep, it will do this without having to touch the EGR valve.

OK so I am all screwed up now....Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.
This is what my notes say....
FCA Bit 9 to 0 = Disable EGR Test
FAA Bit 11 to 1 = Disable EGR
I havn't noticed the cold start 2000 RPM issue.
So I guess others have discovered that FCA bit 9 is for cold start....Got it. I will make the chages to my ROM. Thank you for clarifying.

I disabled FAA bit 11 (set to 1), FCA bit 9 and set all the EGR related tables to zero, including high/low octane EGR enabled advance, Base EGR duty, Secondary EGR duty, EGR coolant temp correction, Alternate EGR Duty.
Drivability off idle was unchanged but idle was terribly rough.

I didn't see the mention of FCA bits and mistakenly assumed you guys were talking about the FAA bits. I think i should just take a rest today .

If your car is JDM the periphery bits will likely be different. The EGR may be non existent. Are you sure you are using 88590015?
