The "cruise control hang" as you defined it is the same thing as the emmissions control thing/throttle hang etc.. as mentioned before. They are one in the same thing.

I have been really looking into this, and have been purposly making my car go into that mode, and looking at my data logs to see what is controlling it, what changes etc... Once I finger it out, I am going to start trying to modify tables/values and what not to try and disable it.

Maybe you can shed some light as to why the flash enabled this "feature" then. I am becoming pretty aggravated about it, and may just end up going AEM until Cobb releases the AP.

it would be nice if we could get a realtime trace on the ECU. It would be awesome if we could log IP just like a MUT request. Maybe set up an interrupt that updates a value with the Interrupt return address to get a basic trace. and figure out where this function sits in the ROM. then we can get a good idea of where this code is sitting so we can dissasemble it. i don't know im grasping at straws cause no ones really figured it out yet.

I don’t understand. It seems to be a pretty common problem, at least as far as I’ve seen in other threads. Frankly I am surprised that none of the programmers/developers have addressed it. I am not familiar with code and so i am helpless. That’s what makes me think twice about this open source tool as not everyone is capable of modifying it such as a developer would.

I noticed this when my car was stock and till now still does it. I notice it mostly on the highway. Let off the gas at higher then 3k rpm after boosting and the cruise control effect kicks in.

I wana bump this because i know some one out there can fix it. I have a lot of confidence in ECUflash and this is my only issue. I dont wana go out and spend thousands of dollars on AEM to eliminate this issue. I think the Factory ECU is plenty powerful and dynamic. I love the fact that ECUflash is an opensource tool but problems such as mine may cause people to think twice. SOMEONEHELP! What do you guys need from me/what can i do to help solve this?

are you saying that the hang was caused by a flash?

throttle body shaft seals. common prob in DSMs. When they go bad they dry rot and not only leak boost/vac, but can make the throttle butterfly stick open. Almost died twice on off-ramps in my eclipse when mine were going bad.

well if you can reproduce the problem then go through and remove each change 1-by-1 to see which change caused it in the first place....
