Hey guys, i have followed the instructions for my rom which is 88580014 ADM evoIX and i can see the two high and low 2 byte tables after adding the lines in with the editor but the original value for both before i am ready to change it is 65535, this doesnt sound correct ??? for both to be the same value??? and also they are different from the ones that are on the original post that i should see before making changes to the value

Haven't quit understood all this yet, but when I log "Load MUT 2Byte Mod" I get some wierd values (between 2000-5000). Can someone confirm that these values are useless without doing the mod in the XML and ROM file? Haven't really seen any explanatory background info on the 2-byte load topic..
just did the 2 byte on 88840016 and my values are also screwed
idling i see 2500......

that cant be right

Just to inform, the values I got were from logging without any modification to the ROM..

Why not just try and load up a USDM ver 15 ROM onto your ECU and see if that works? If it does, just follow the directions here to log your 2-byte load. You can always flash it back if the car doesn't like the ROM.

I don't like this approach. The difference between them might not be enough to stop the car from starting, but could still cause damage.

I think the better idea would be to post the rom and let the people who look for the 2byte values tell him where it is. Plus then anyone else in future with the same rom will be able to get 2byte as well.

+1^ I cant agree with you more i think out roms are quite different.
Like we don't have a MAP sensor on top of intake manifold.
GOD know how it works out Manifold pressure..

Why didnt Mitso make them all the same.....

Yes the only downside is the dead spot during spool up. You need to manually lean it out or else spool will suffer greatly.

However if you truly want to make the most power having this featured disabled can help truly.

Those with tuning knowledge should easily figure out why.

I havent seen any evidence of damage resulting from trying to flash cars with close but different ROMs. There is still a chance I spose, but if you flash it and then try to start it and it doesnt start, let off. I think damage if it were going to result would be because it had been repeatedly tried to be started.

I wouldnt use a USDM map though in my attempt. The 885xxxx13 from Aus was pretty close because before their was a proper definition it had been practice to use that ROM. The only thing that didnt cross correctly was the stationary rev limit, where it was defined as 2798 it was actually 274a. I cant claim credit for any of that, but I have been checking some of the addresses between the two and there are some definite similarities (obviously).

I think the better idea would be to post the rom and let the people who look for the 2byte values tell him where it is. Plus then anyone else in future with the same rom will be able to get 2byte as well
This is the best choice, but when you have guys like me that are impatient and not willing to wait this is why experimenting with other ROMs happens. Dwayne you are 100% correct though, there is a right way and then this way.

If you haven't made the change to the ROM as described in the how to (xml change allows ECUflash to "see" the entry in the ROM) then when you log with Evoscan and tell it to make the request for that value, I'm not sure what is going to come back from that memory address but more than likely its not 2 byte load.

So i'd go with a "yeah its useless".

If you can upload a zipped copy of your ROM to AktiveMatrix.com (or any other place where I can get access to it), then I can find the 2-byte load info.

BTW, I've found the location of the MUT table (not difficult) but I don't have IDApro to find out the loadcalc routine... MUT location is 0x0377FA (map 88840016)...

Any suggestion?
