Very Nice guys,
We use to do this on the DSMs minus the whole ecu thing. I think it was 2 capacitors and 1 resistor... Eliminated the CEL, but not sure about the OBD-II, mine was a 95 and they dident hook up at E-Check.

I think someone asked this already but im a little lost so here it goes. Lets say I get a test pipe made can I put the o2 sensor in the test pipe and just rework the code on ecuflash to eliminate the CEL light? without have to do the resistor thing process?

I am also getting the P0125 code (coolant tempature wouldn't allow closed loop), but no O2 code. European 06 IX MR without cat (but sensor plugged in).
First I added the code to the 88840016-file, but when I opened the ROM, it didn't show, but added it to the evo9base-file, and then I could change the value, but getting the coolant temp. code.. Not shure how I understand how the definition files are used/chosen. Any link to info?

Zamot, After I get done doing some maintainence on my car (raced yesterday) I will look at the ROM. That is a configurable setting in the US Roms if you add the definition (it exists in the VIII and is the same or close, 05 is the same as the IX anyway). The value is supposed to be 7*C and I have made the mistake before (once) of altering it thinking it was the min temp for full boost control and threw that same code.

I went down to Radio Shack to pick up the resistor and found that they were not rated in amps but in watts. So I picked up a 10K ohm resistor rated for .25 watts. This maybe right, this maybe wrong. Can some one let me know the color code found on the resistor they are using?

the AUDM and the EDM ix's are running on the same rom i presume? in this case, it seems as if flashing the ecu with the new bit input will still result in a CEL if u run without the cat. anyone found a way around this issue? pls enlighten!

If you want to pass the monitor test and not get the CEL you may want to go with a sim and resistor from here: http://webstore.o2simulator.com/
The Mini Cooper one works best with the EVO. They have a 20 ohm resistor which is very close to the factory 11-18 ohm specification. This way you do not have to alter the ECU and will pass the monitor test. Additionaly you may want to pick up a bad rear o2 sensor so you can use the connector and avoid splicing into the factory cable harness.

Zamot add these to your evo9base.xml:
<table name="O2 sensor" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>
<table name="Min temp for closed loop" address="11aa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Temp"/>
Make sure to go to options and set the user level to developer, then close ECUflash and reopen it. The factory setting for min temp closed for your EDM is 0*C where the US is 7. Double check to make sure your value is somewhere in between. If it is too high then you will get the P0125 code, though I am not sure what the exact trigger point is (I know setting it at 70*C will definitely set it off).
faa is the O2 sensor CEL and it is the same as the USDM cars. The factory value will be 56DA, lower this to 56D8 and it will be OFF.

Not a problem Dave. Keep me informed because I havent had a 9 do this, but I have run into 8's doing it occasionaly. The one time I mentioned it was definitely my fault but I have had one or 2 that seemed to do it for no reason. The only other thing I could think of that cured it was running the car in open loop basically all the time. Closed loop for idle and start up and running with the open loop maps at 10%. The one nice thing about configuring it that way is I have total control over the whole fuel map not where the ECU crosses over from the factory.
