Yea I did see that while searching around google. Looks like that is the latest version, was just skeptical, didnt hear about many people using it. I know it is good to like 48psi vs 44psi on the older gm so that means it wont top out at 29.4psi (positive pressure)like the older gm, maybe closer to the jdm sensor, which I think tops out at 33psi(positive pressure)

That sensor is the boost pressure sensor for a Duramax diesel and it is a honey of a sensor. I sent one off a couple of years ago to Tom Dorris of ECMtuning and he ported it to the DSMlink .jar file. I have installed at least a half dozen of these little fellas and they are always ***** on accurate, not to mention good for 38 psi of boost. I would be really psyched if I could use it with the stock ECU in my car.

Matt, that is where I heard of the sensor years ago....from the DSMLink boards.

I have been using it on my Evo for over a year without any problems. It's tiny size helps putting it anywhere, too. Mine is behind my glovebox along with my SSi4.

It seems like so many people use the old, big, outdated GM 3-bar, so that's why I mentioned it. I have mentioned it before, but it probably just got buried in a thread.

FYI, if you want to use the sensor now, you can simpkly buy an SSi4 from Innovate (or a vendor) for around $100-120. It will give you 4 0-5V inputs. You can then log whatever sensors with Innovate's LogWorks, which is a great application.

I haven't really paid attention to the JDM sensor thread, but I'm sure the GM3.3 bar could be used with he stock ECU, too, in the same way that the JDM sensor is.

Delphi also has a combined MAP/MAT 3.5 bar AND air temperature in one location. This would be great to measure LICP and UICP pressure and temps when doing IC and piping changes. Great on UICP just for boost too.

Logging this separately through Logworks ECu+ etc and not using it to replace the 1 bar USDM gets around the CEL on the VIII.

You could use this and a simple comparator circuit to look at in/out temps and for boost > 15 psi ( > 3volt ) send a trigger output to a relay controlling a simple ic sprayer. for the 05> guys that do HDPE and the road racers, the additional cooling would be peace of mind and out of sight .

Well the reason I was looking at the older 3bar is because I was planning on using it in junction with an autometer boost gauge electrical that uses that sensor. I would love to just get something to work that is more accessible to all rather than a jdm sensor just in case it goes bad.

If you want to have a gauge for the sensor, you can use Innovate's XD-16. That's what I have for my wideband (LC-1) and for my GM3.3bar. They are nice flat digital gauges that you can program how you wish and mount anywhere pretty easily.

I like the XD-16 so much I got two of them and I am thinking about getting a third one. It is an excellent and versatile gauge. Get one, you will not regret it.

Thought I would post a helper update this as I'm hoping to get my GM 3bar to work as a replacement for the JDM unit. I use a PLX R-500 wideband which can be configured to monitor and log boost from a MAP sensor including the one here. Check out this white paper on how to set it up and maybe you'll get some ideas:
