? about using GM 3bar for boost logging and ecuflash
I know most of the roms now have tables defined where you can change the voltage and egr values to compensate for a 3bar jdm sensor. My question is since the voltage is defined and the egr values are now set for 3bar, how hard would it be to use a diff 3bar map sensor like a GM3bar? It seems the voltage may be slightly diff from the jdm, but should be very close and you can wire the 3 wires into the harness. The reason I am so interested in this, is not only for logging, but I would like to have an accurate boost gauge to view in car also, and the only one I know of that will serve dual purpose of viewing and logging is the GM 3bar since the electric autometer uses it(maybe others).

The tables in the rom are so you can make the EGR system function properly. The value output to a logger would be a range from 0-255 representing 0-5 volts, all you need to do is get some known calibration info and map it to the digital value. You can then put the right values in the tables and create a formula for mitsulogger or Evoscan.
FWIW I haven't seen anything posted with the new table info for 94170008 or I would have gotten mine set up awhile ago.

the only problem I see is the connection into the wiring harness. It would be nice to have some kind of adaptor so you don't have to splice the wiring.

If your looking for the volts to psi conversion table that you will need to log boost via a GM 3 bar with Logworks, then I have that. GM provides you with the data for the conversion and the attached table includes averaged numbers based on the high and low values that GM provides.

You need to get a voltage measure at the altitude that you are at. You do that by turning the car on and engine off and getting a reading from the 3 Bar GM sensor. That voltage will be your 0 psi equivelant. At sea level (my altitude) 0psi=1.6v. Your would be different if you are above or below sea level. New Orleans anyone?

I had an XD-16 hooked up to my GM 3bar and it dispalyed the boost. Now I have the XD-16 hooked up to the JDM MAP and it displays that data. I currently log the JDM MAP from the ECU and from the LMA2/LM1. The boost data from the ECU is a bit laggy, but the overlap between the two boost readings is very close.

If you want a jdm map sensor talk to mrfred they are 125 plus shipping. I am trying to use the GM3Bar GM Part# 12223861 which you can find all over the web for diff prices and diff rebrands. I would like to use the GM sensor because of its popularity and the availability in the US market vs other sensors.

It's a 3.3bar sensor, very small (a little more than a square inch for the sensor body), and a nice linear relationship between voltage and pressure. I have been using for quite a while now with an SSi4 and LogWorks.
