I'm still using the stock BCS and homemade #65 pill for the actuator.

I'm thinking about going to the GM unit but don't want to chop my wiring harness. I was hoping someone would find an adaptor or patch cable to use instead of a razor blade.

There really is no way to avoid chopping it up. The thing that I did, seeing as how **** I am, is strip the wiring harness (the conduit loom) back untill you are into the large conduit. I cut and soldered the new connecter in there so that if the need ever arises, I can neetly put the old plug soldered back in, and the connection is under the large conduit, where the Mitsubishi tec's are not really going to look. (They would just check the ends of the connections.) The point it's at now, is my GM solenoid, other than the connector, looks all stock.

Well at this point I don't see the need to switch to the 3 BAR. I'm holding the boost I want when on race gas simply buy filling the stock brass pill with solder and drilling a #65 hole in it. Total cost was $4.

i am going with the GM BCS. its a better version of the stock bcs. its really not hard to install.

best thing about ECU control, its no just an 'on/off' switch like the MBC.

The idea is to have the pigtails and the user can splice in whatever they want. So plug and play to the factory harness, but splice in whatever you want on the other side.

Still in Beta stage at this point. The mold is made and the test units have been done.

Can someone tell me what is the advantage of the GM Solenoid over the stock BCS with a #65 pill? Is higher boost the only advantage?

Holds boost better and faster response, since the stock unit is only a 2-port, the 3-port action allows for quicker bleeding of boost. The boost curves coming form the 3-port units seem to be much smoother as well. The 3-port I use holds 22psi at redline

And its more reliable IMO, 2 of my friends cars have suffered stock BCS failure

Pretty much what UCB said. However not sure about the reliablity statement of the stock BCS. I have yet to see one fail, even on very high mileage 03 evos. Anything can happen I guess.

I've seen some people use more than 100% WGDC in their tables which does nothing from my testing, I could imagine that might cause the solenoid to overheat or fail, although the stock system runs at 100% all the time.

Yeah perhaps just 2 random incidents that happened to 2 ppl I know. However, i think the performance gain is well worth the cost of th 3port
