Noises while flashing...

I have an odd question. It seems like every time I flash my car with EcuFlash I get one of three different noise patterns while the flash process is running:

1) Flash begins, then a jolting click noise, then flash proceeds, then another jolting click noise as flash process nears end, then a quick sequence of soft sounding clicks when finished.

2) Same as #1 but without the first jolting click noise.

3) No noises during the flash process.

Anyone else notice this? If so, why do the noise patterns during flashing vary? Does one noise patter versus another suggest it didn't load properly despite the computer message reading "flash correct"?

Thanks in advance.

I notice the clicking. I've started to just not pay attention, so I can't remember if it's exactly like you describe. I definitely get 2 sets of fast clicks. It sounds like a relay switching in fast succession. I'd say completely normal.

I guess I'm not questioning the fact that it clicks and makes noises, but rather why the click/noise pattern seems to vary between flashes.

It is definitely some type of resetting or calibration process. I guess the time between flashes could affect the amount of calibration needed.

It seems only IX's do it, or do it loudly anyway. They are some other noises that only seem Flash related, but I havent ever had any issues. The only one I listen for is the rapid cycle of a relay at the end of the flash (least I assume its a relay) just because I dont pay attention to the screen anymore.

I get all these noises. I think the last set of rapid clicks is the boost solenoid relay clicking.
