Yeah, but Id like it to be darn near close to 0 counts, so I think Id rather put up with the extra flashing. Kindof reminds me to keep my foot out of it until I get my tune sorted out.

Oh, and Ive got mine set to Load=100, knock count=3

I had my flash setup to read up to 300 on the load cell scaling by a mail-in tuner a while back...since the 'how to' for this MOD hasn't been fully released *only with an already patched file* how do i go about increasing the load cells on the patch? Is it as easy as deleting load cell '70' and '90' and adding '280' and '300' at the end on the fuel/timing maps (along with the adjusting of the maps in those areas) or is it more in depth? Some help will be greatly appreciated! I have rom 96940011 if that matters...

Also i logged 'Load Calculated' and '2-Byte load' at the same time at idle and it seems that those two work while both on...

Step by step to rescale load:

But you are basically on the right track.

Awesome! Thanks

Another question....

Does anybody know if the 96940011 ROM has the dealer po300 fix on it? My old rom didnt and when i went to flash it changed about 5 different sections of code (when its doing the crc check to see what was modified or not)

Really big thanks to tephra

I patched his altered rom code with my previous 88840016 tune, and it works fine !
I set the load to 120 and KS to 4 (so I get warned above 3 on serious load), and this makes me more confortable when I'm driving hard without any loggin

Using the v15 of the EVO IX rom, when I went to look at the values, the default time was something like 23xxx (don't have the exact number in front of me) instead of 3xxx. Has anyone else seen this? Did I do something wrong? I didn't flash the ROM since I was afraid something wasn't correct.

Thanks,
MIke

I had the same thing happen to mine. I built the base rom and flashed the computer. The mod worked and all was fine. Then I made a WGDC change and reflashed. I then read the rom from the ECU to verify the change and all my KNOCK info was corrupt. I downloaded twice to verify and sure enough it was bunk.

Also noticed that after the knock map each and every flash afterwards took much longer than expected.

I'd highly suggest turning the load reached before cel flash down to 0. Reason being so that you can see part throttle knock (which changes with each brand of gas or tank to tank from same brand) so that you can watch the knock sensor at all times. I caught a 2500rpm 90% load tip in issue this way (that went away with a new tank of gas). Also evo 9's seem to pull MUCH more timing per count of knock than 8's. I'd recommend 3 as a good starting point for knock threshold for cel flash and evo 8's can probably stand upwards of 5 before timing pull becomes a serious issue. Even on my evo 9 a single counts was pulling extreme amount of timing for some reason.

Here is what my settings ended up changing to..... scared the crap out of me.

......and this is after I had already had this working.

IRT setting the load to zero.... I often see phantom knock at low loads. I really do not care to see that activity. I want to know about knock when at 200 and above.
