Awesome job Matt, I look forward to learning more about a cheap MAF delete option.

Could you take a moment to list (in very basic terms) the steps you forsee people taking in order to implement this? Basically, I'm just curious if there are complex physical/wiring changes that need to be made and/or complex ECU changes that need to be made, or if as simple as: Step 1) Remove MAF, Step 2) Flash ECU

Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were that easy. + adding a 3 bar MAP, though.

Very cool...

Now, I can do this to my car, take the turbo out, port it, and still drive the car back and forth to work while porting, he he...

Nothing quite like a 150hp max Evo...

I would be interested in a step by step. I would even send a little $$ your way for some personal help! =)

+1 on step by step.

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the 3bar map sensor?

OK, I have what is probably the final version of the MAP patch. I am now able to completely remove the MAF sensor input without dropping into limp mode or throwing a CEL.

I'll describe what is needed more in depth once I figure out what I am going to use for the baro and ait input without using the MAFT Pro. I'll probably lock the baro signal @ 3.5v and rescale the temp comp table to work with the GM AIT sensor.

Subscribed. The stock ECU never ceases to amaze me, and people like you continue to push the stock ECU envelope. Thanks.

Wouldn't you want the barometric pressure to help with altitude compensation at start up and while driving, or would this configuration do that since it computes the mass of the air by pressure and temperature?

Less dense would have an effect on pressure...yadda yadda yadda...maybe I answered my own question?

Where are you going to install the GM IAT sensor?

If you leave the MAF hooked up sitting somewhere out of the way in the engine compartment, you can use the baro signal to automatically compensate for elevation for the boost logging.
