Methinks we should re-label "baseline boost 1/2/3" to "Boost Target"

Less confusion with Baseline WGD then

Going to give this a red-hot-go tonight new 3port as well, so really I should start with VERY low DC's in the BWGD table.

Yeah, I struggled a bit on the terminology. Trouble is that its not really target boost. Baseline boost + boost adder = target boost. That's why I used the baseline boost term. Still not completely happy with the terminology.

Well I think if you rename "boost adder" to "atmospheric pressure" and "baseline boost" to "target boost" that would pretty much make sense.

Ahh but you couldn't without upgrading your MAP sensor... in which case you would need to change the scaling on the bdel/baselineboost/boosttarget table.

??? the JDM sensor logs higher than 26psi....

Because its direct boost you need to have a MAP sensor to read how much boost you are running. - obviously :P

So if you plan on running more than 28psi (3bar - atmo) you will need to upgrade your map sensor...

Now the other problem is that mrfred's change does something funny which artificially limits you to 24.6 psi (255/(2*5.18) = 24.6psi. I am looking at getting rid of the 2* which means you could run upto 49.2psi using the standard maps.

Anyways once MrFred gets back from Hol's he can take a closer look

The limit is 24.6 psi + whatever is in the boost adder 1d table. I like the 24.6 psi range in the baseline boost table because the increment in the table value is 0.1 psi. The 49.2 psi range has the advantage of being able to set the boost adder to atm pressure. The increment is 0.2 psi though. Either way its advantages. Both allow 30+ psi tuneability if someone wants to go there.

The JDM 3 bar is linear out to 4.6 V / 30.5 psi. I've measured it.

yeah so as I said:

3 bar = 43.5 psi
atmo = 14.5 psi

3bar - atmo = 29psi (sorry I said 28)

So with a 3bar map you can run upto 29psi, you probably wouldn't want to (as you are at the limits of the MAP sensor) but you could.

edit - hey mrfred what was your elevation when you measured 30psi?

Yea that's what I thought.... Could have sworn the JDM sensor was good to 30psi. Just have to changed the boost adder, which is why I said changing the boost adder to "atmospheric" would confuse people that want to run more boost.

It might be good to 30psi if you tune @ 2000ft

edit - ^^^ lol, yeah I was confused with your 26psi as well, because the table limits you to 24.6 psi :P

edit2 -- clear up

to run more than 24.6psi (table limit) you either need to remove the 2x scaling modifier, or bump your boost adder

to run more than 29psi you either need to tune at higher altitudes OR get a better map sensor.

I think thats right?
