I'll have to test that out. Anyone else have this happen? If so, it would good to let tephra know.

Thats not the case with me (96940011). I did multiple launches the other day, just about back to back, with NLTS too.

Interesting, I wonder what the difference is? I'm just using the ROM that tephra posted with my old ROM's values cut-n-pasted, for the record: no additional patches added at this point.

I can reproduce this pretty consistently at this point: turn on the car, hold in clutch, mash gas, and the car hits the stationary rev limit. Go out on the road, shift using NLTS a few times, come to a stop. Hold in clutch, mash gas, and the car revs quite a bit higher than I'd prefer. Stationary rev limit is currently 6000 RPM, NLTS drop is 500 RPM, normal rev limit is 7796, NLTS TPS threshold is currently 90%. No magic here, and I'd be happy to share a copy of the ROM I'm using if anyone would find it interesting.

I'll try playing around with some lower limits over the next day or two to see if I can tell whether the car hits the normal rev limit (instead of stationary), or if it's free-revving with no limit at all.

I am also experiencing the same issue as logic is with the NLTS and the stationary rev limiter. My settings are similar: 96940011, 6000 stationary limit, 1500 drop, 95% TPS. I could consistently reproduce the “delete” of the stationary limiter with one NLTS trigger event. I changed my stationary limit back down to 5000 and the problem is nonexistent. I do not know what the correlation may be; could some value between 5000 and 6000 for the stationary limit be a threshold for the “delete”? I wanted to say it had something to do with the final drop rpm being lower than the stationary limit, but logic's drop is only 500. What is everyone's stationary limit – both those experiencing the problem and not – with the 96940011 rom? Maybe we can figure out the exact stationary limit value above which the “delete” occurs, if that is even the case.

Well, rather than have us speculate on what's going on, I think it's best to simply let the man who wrote the code take a look.

Once tephra sees these posts, I'm sure he will take a look and let us know what's going on. If it really turns out to be a bug, which it looks like since two separate people have reported it, I'm sure it's a simple issue with the logic (no pun intended, logic) of his code that tephra could quickly resolve.

Tephra,

If I set the Enable Rev Limit Switching value to 0 what exactly is that disabling? I want to disable the NLTS when I am autocrossing but what does disabling this do exactly?

Thanks,
~Z

Hrmm interesting. So its only when you have a stat-rev-limit above 5000?

AFAIK the stationary revlimit is handled in completely different code to what I'm hijacking.

Eric since you have 96940011 can you try and simulate the problem?

I have no problem testing, but I won't be able to get to it until the weekend. Also, I am still using one of the ROMs from the original testing of 96940011, so I'm not sure if you have any coding changes in the posted ROM since then.

Anyone who is having this problem, let me know if you find anything more and I will test it with my ROM this weekend. For example, is it just with a stationary rev limit over 5000 or is it just for 6000, etc.

Having a third person experience this would suggest an issue, but since Tephra just stated that he doesn't touch that code, I'm curious now.

That should probably be more appropriately named "enable valet mode"

OK cool I will rename it that, as long as that is only what it does.

Now How do you actually add the the patch? is it possible for a step by step instructions if anyone has time?
I have the 96940011 rom.

download the rom from the first page... Then open up the text document corresponding to which version of ecuflash you are using... copy those lines to the bottom of your corresponding XML FILE (96940011) MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR XML FILE FIRST.

go thru and copy all of your tables from the rom you are using to that rom, save it and flash it.

Tables you NEED to copy... Fuel, timing, immobilizer, if you are stock are stock like, that is about it. If not, you need injectors, idling stuff and any other special additions to your rom that you may be using
