God, please get very savvy with the ECUFLash stuff Kev. I need more local guys to help with tuning now and again. Everyone I know around here simply drops the car off at a dyno shop and gets flashed. I've been rather impressed with how many advances have been made since this summer using the factory ECU and ECUFLash. I love it.

Not only am I also impressed with how sophisticated the ECUflash setup has become, I'm impressed by the fact that it seems to have all been put together and advanced by "regular" guys, not some big company. And this section of EVOm is by far the best (it's the only one I frequent now), and has recently renewed my hope for this forum. I'm about as FNG as it gets in this section though, and I'll probably have sold the EVO before I make any great strides in learning this particular system. I wish I had started with it earlier than I did.

I'm beginning to think a stock 96420007 ROMID does not exist. The 0007 XML started working with my car with v1.29a. All prior versions (up to v1.29) tagged my 04 ECU with 0008 (with undefined stepper axixes). Perhaps ecuflash used it as a fix for vendor flashed 0008 problems. Possibility?

you can use the 96420008 rom, you simply have to change the addresses of the stepper table to the one shown in the 96420007.
when ecu flash originally came out, the 96420007 was being recognized as a 96420008. well a lot of people found out that the columns in the idle stepper table were wrong. so another rom ID of 96420007 was released with the correct addresses for the idle stepper table. so the 96420008 and the 96420007 are the same.
i JUST patched mine 2 days ago. i had the 96420007 rom and flashed it with the 96420008 rom. i then changed the address in the table to the one from the 96420007 rom. even if you dont change the addresses, it will still function correctly.

Guys I'm going to be releasing a new ROM soonish (next couple of days) with some extra features (mainly knobs to control the current features)
Should I create a new thread? or update this one?
Given we are at page 51 a lot of "new" people would have to read a lot of old stuff... which may confuse them..
comments/thoughts?

* min load threshold for NLTS (as requested by a few guys to help with down shift blipping
* timer for valet mode flashing
* general code cleanup + optimisation
* auto valet, so when you turn the car on it automatically puts it into valet mode...
I might include a speed limit function as well to integrate with the revlimit in valet mode
anyways the 2nd one was a lot of extra code because I needed it to flash when turning on and off otherwise you couldn't tell what mode it's in... but ill explain that more once its released...
also I am going to make it so you can't hold down the TPS and it flips valet on and off - it will only do it once, that way you cant turn it on then off by accident
