you need to set your user level to developer if you've got it setup right or you could always ask me or Josh (gear head) to take a look at it for you your up in the ut evo forum errr day

He probably already has all of his XML files edited though, that way it is in fact a simple copy and paste ordeal.
Can someone explain why this is? I have my knock sensor disabled in my ROM vix hex edit, so I am hesitant to switch to a new ROM, but I want to apply the patch.

Can I not patch my current ROM so that it will work with the XML?

or I guess if someone wants to tell me how to disable the knock sensor by hex then that would work too

I'm converting my GT-A to manual but keeping the GT-A ECU. The ECU is 4 plug, 3 rows of pins.

Should the patch work okay?

96420008 confirmed working on my late model 04 that came with the same rom.

So far I only thoroughly tested the NLTS, but i will respond back after I test the other options out so you can green light it for others. My specific car would not run on any other rom.

Are you using the patched ROM? Did you copy the codes over to the xml? Also, make sure you have the user level set to developer.

Apologies for bringing back an older thread, but I have a question. I use this patch and I would like to add the 2-stage knock light capability. I'm not a software guy. Intuitively, it seems like the latter lines of code need to replace the former:

<table name="KnockSum Required for CEL" category="Mods" address="480C2" type="1D" scaling="uint16"/>

<table name="KnockSum Required for Slow CEL (Low Knock)" category="TephraMod-V7" address="4823c" type="1D" scaling="uint16" />
<table name="KnockSum Required for Fast CEL (High Knock)" category="TephraMod-V7" address="4823e" type="1D" scaling="uint16" />

What else do I need to do to gain this capability? Is it even possible without running V7? Please explain it as if you're talking to a 5 year old. If this was already discussed and I missed it in my search, I'd appreciate a pointer to the post. Thanks!

You have to use V5.1 or V7 to use the 2 stage knock light. Its the only way.

IMHO the 2stage kock light isnt a great feature. I dont like having to look and figure out if it slow or fast flashing before letting off. On V5.1 and V7 I usually set the slow knock light to a number you'll never see (ie 30), then I set the fast knock light to the knock sum I desire.

Also, since you asked: You can't get the two stage knock light by simply adding the definition, the ROM needs to be patched for it. Patching a ROM and adding a definition are two different things.
