Why do you ask?
I'm surprised that you have trouble with low speed.. it makes the car quite tolerant in these areas.

I do not have egr installed. Timing is zeroed out. My intake manifold doesn't accept egr.. Skunk 2

Okay
That's why your timing map looks like that

My car will tend to do the parking lot thing as well around 1500-1800. I haven't really had much time to play with that area as I've been trying to get the road race tuning done on the fresh engine. Thanks for making me look there

im beginning to tune lately and this my working progress with some guidance from a friend. peak is about 390(30psi) @3800rpm tapering to about 370 no knock whatsoever, infact I think it wants more timing everywhere....its a 2.4. fp black pump gas setup.....any sort of input is appreciated

Looks aggressive enough for the amount of boost you're running . You must have some good fuel. Post a log file, I'd like to see what AFR you're running.

+1 nice amount of timing. Thing must snap! I'd like to bolt on a black. 3800 peak isn't bad at all.. What cams?

Edit 2.4 .. Damn so is there offset to your timing map?

It's just lurching real bad. Like the lash in the drivetrain + stock mounts are having a party. While it cruises nice, decel from cruise lurches not really a management problem more like a mechanical issue .

thanks for the feed back sir! my pump gas here in australia is 98ron which comes close to your 93oct. afrs are at 11.9 at peaktq and then decreases to 11.3 by redline.....it is aggressive timing but im thinking its cos of the low comp pistons i got, i went long rod but not high comp ...running s2 btw

Rats, I am dealing with similar stuff as you, usually just 6 months behind you. I have been reading all the tuning and engine building books I bought some time ago. One of the things that the more engineering book explained with a lot of formulas was the problem of introducing a larger throttle body and the lurching effect it can have. Do you have a large TB like me? I forgot?

It is summarized as the larger TB helps cause the issue because the larger surface area can let in so much air even at very slight opening, and turns the car into a low speed light switch kind of thing. It talked about progressive ramps of the TB and all that to manage it. Not sure how to tune some of that effect out.

I do, FB 70 mm. Timing reduction helped for sure though.

I'm lurching off throttle though .

We'll mine will lurch off throttle too. As if the drivetrain is oscillating when engine braking. I'm am always having the feather the clutch or be ready to. Where did you decrease your timing primarily? And, do you also have the EGR delete?

Keep in mind that to reduce engine braking you would add timing and not the opposite.
