Off boost throttle response feels a bit better. I'll have to see about the mpg.

With that setup, you should be hitting over 300 load, even on mild boost. This would give you more map resolution for tuning.

At cruise (2.5@3.5kRPM) the total timing (EGR advance + high oct timing map) should be between 40 and 45*. You are under 30*, this thing must feel pretty heavy (bye bye mpg).
Hey domyz, I have been meaning to do this to help my MPG. Currently I have the vacuum lines to the EGR disconnected, a block-off plate, as well as EGR disabled in the ROM.
Do you have a functional EGR valve? Can I use the EGR timing map without actually using the valve? If so, do I just enable EGR in the ROM and everything will work, and no CEL? thanks.

I have a functional EGR valve for this. Without EGR, I'm not sure your car will be able to run this much timing. There is a physical/combustion reason why when EGR activates, ECU does a timing advance. But you could try it: IIRC there is some periphery bits to disable or something like that for having EGR table work without having the solenoid.

Search in the forums, the answer is there I saw it a couple times but can't remember where. Or contact 211ratsbud, if I remember correctly he is running EGR advance ECU function without the actual system.

I agree, luckily it's already putting down 775whp/600 tq and there just isn't any NEED for any more timing or boost.

Nice, better be conservative. Just make sure your EGT isn't too high.

Is your MAP VE 1:1 ?
And which map sensor do you have?

RON98. That is close to US 93 octane.

Need a but more data. Start your pull earlier and log as little as possible, including unchecking " log data to screen".

What turbo and cams? Also are you logging wideband ?

Sorry I don't have sigs turned on. But stage two shouldn't be seeing phantom knock unless you have a rattle or loose something..

10's can cause knock.. Be aware of where the rich afr is and your knock/misfire readings .. If you're tuning there's no reason to be in the 10's anywhere really including peak load or torque.

If you read all the pages of this thread ( highly recommended) you will see a lot of discussion about afr vs timing and misfire / knock .

Finally got a chance to fool with my timing a bit and do some logs. This is my first go round.
I had knock showing 1 and occasionally 2 in about 6 spots, and one spot with 4-5.
Map below is after pulling it back in those spots and smoothing a bit.

VIII on a IX turbo, standard mods.... 3" TBE, LICP, open filter, COP, wb255, ~23 psi on 93oct
