Ive successfully been adding a degree of timing to my wot areas and smoothing of course. Car just keeps taking it. So far at 14 degrees of timing up top but I havent really touched peak torque area up unitl now.

Im going to add a degree of timing at peak torque and see if it will take it. Im only running 0 degrees right now so I should be able to get a degree or two well find out.

Edited: Heres my maps I got a pic for us.

Definitely lots of room for more timing in the peak torque area if you are running 93 oct. Evo 8s can take at least 4 deg at 3000 rpm at reasonable loads (up to maybe 280 load). Might be able to take 5 or 6 deg. Just watch the HP and knock as you increase the timing. Obviously getting knock means you've gone too far, but if you start getting minimal gains in HP as you start getting higher and higher but with no knock, then there's no point in pushing the timing up further.

Plus he's on alky now too with 93 octane so he'll be able to really crank up the timing up top. I'm at 23* right now at 7500 rpm/240 load @23.5psi.

Your maps look very simular to mine. I am not running Meth. Since you are...you have a TON of room to add some timing. Oh and I am working on my tine with 27-28PSI.

Don't be affraid to push it a little. Keep your knock CEL on at all times. Then you get a warning with things start to go bad. Let off the gas...fast.

Also, I know many people match the low and high maps. For tuning purposes I would not recommend it. You want the ECU to pull timing when it sees knock. For safety sake. Then once you are comfortable with your tune, matching them will be ok. It won't matter at that pont any how becasue the ECU should never refer back to the low maps any how.

I usually keep my low octane map my previous one. Not to mention I keep a my pump gas tune on alt maps just in case. Im definitely going to keep pushing the timing. Im definitely a little scared sometimes going WOT. I can feel the difference everytime and I dont want anything to pop.

Once you get your wideband back you can really get some serious tuning taken care of. Gonna tune Bills red evo (spins4) this week and then we're hitting up ESP's mustang dyno on the 30th for a 1 hour self-tuning session to do the final tweaking. With his new mods I forsee some decent power out of his setup

You'll have to come down one weekend so we can get some more power out of your ride.

Are you still seing power increase at 23*? i would have though MBT is lower than that at 7500rpm 240 load

Sure did! Gained @7-10whp between 7k-7.k RPM going from 21* to 23* with each degree gaining about the same amount.

Very true. My setup on a IX with 23* up top would be quite impressive. Bryan, I assume you got your package with no issues?

I think the jagged line in the log is caused by the low resolution of the timing matrix. There are only 8 rows to get from 7deg to 20deg (3500rpm to 7000rpm) in 3.5 seconds. Its a pity the matrix doesn't increase RPM by 250rpm intervals instead of 500rpm.

I actually made a custom rom that was scaled so it only had a 0 rpm,1K RPM, 3K RPM and the rest were scaled from 5k to 7.5k RPM for 1/4 mile racing. It had the load scaled so the majority of the axis was from 220-300 load too. It worked VERY well but I wanted one tune that I used 24/7. It was a pain to ensure I rescaled EVERY table that used the rpm axis......a pain. Plus there are tables that aren't listed in ECUFlash.

heres what I flashed to the car earlier. Once again no knock and load now is the 300-310 area. Only got one log need to go out and get some more but it felt good.

Would love to see how much timing you guys are running...before spool up and at redline.
