I went to the track today with my EVO9. Managed to run an 11.97@116mph. I attached a jpg of the top 3 passes. Very hard to get a good launch. I either wheel hopped or had to launch without the stutterbox. The only reason I managed to run an 11 is because I upped my rev limiter to 8000rpm. The best I could get at the 7800rpm limit was a 114.

EVO 8 ignition map 21 psi 93 Pump
Here the map I pulled off the car I just bought. Previous owners tune. I did add the lower timing cells for the 2 step. Otherwise untouched by me.
OPINIONS? Car has 272/264 cams, tbe, fmic, licp, cai, 10.5 hs, ebc, 1g bov, 255 pump, prob missed some but that is the jest of it.

How are able to run so much peak timing? What AFR's are seen with those of you running 13+ degrees of peak timing? I assume the changes made are between 7000-8000 and the 220 and 240 load cells right?

But I still see many IX owners, in this thread alone, running 12-13* of peak timing; is there a particular area where the IX or evo in general will see good results of running higher peak timing? Particularly the 7K and 7500K RPM point at the 220 and 240 load cells is my question, I'm running 11* peek with 11.3 afr's,

No, I'm on 93 octane...based on my mods and afr, is it safe to say that in the load cells 220 and 240 in the 7K-7.5K points 12-13* ought to safe? I know this is all relative, until I go out and log what the car is doing...The car feels strong as hell right now, but if I can up the timing up top, I'm sure it'll feel even stronger with higher peak numbers...

Also, at this point I'm not knocking after 7K at all, would 1 degree of timing induce lets say 10+ counts of knock or would it induce more subtle knock? I know theres no way of telling, but is there some sort of general rule of thumb?
