Anti-Lag option.

In ECUFlash there is an option for anti-lag.

I was curious as to how the car determines when to use the anti lag map? And If i set this up will it be on all the time, and will i have to make two maps. one with anti lag for track use and one without for street use?

Any help is appreciated!

There is no anti-lag hardware or ROM code on US cars. Only possible anti-lag is what can be had by retarding the timing.

^ random comment :P

the reason why I haven't played with oldskool antilag (retard timing + dump fuel) is it's bad for the turbo, but also bad for the cat

Do you really still run a cat?

yep... big fines in australia for not running a cat...

and really there is no reason not to run a cat - other than not being able to antilag

Not THAT BAD, back in my Subbie days, I had a LINK ECM, no cats, and would run ALS all the time, turbo was totally fine. The down side is that you have to crank the throttle open 20-30% and leave it like that, and then idle is controlled with timing retard as well, so the car idles, well weird, but in a good way, lots of rally cars do it. Come to think about it, here is a link of my Subbie with ALS.

Tephra, and chance you can make something like tha and just caution ppl if you feel like, that Turbo life may suffer?

BTW: Sorry to hear about your accident, hope all is ok

ANTI-LAG has its up's and down's. Personally, if I build up any more boost off the line...my transfer case would be sprawled all over the track every time I visit. I build nearly 7-8psi with the basic rev limiter and traction is an issue already. If I had more power, I'd need to slip my clutch even more (I don't like shaving a layer of skin off of my clutch every time if I can minimize it). I can live with that much power off the line, and a much cooler turbo.

ALS is not that much for launches, as it is for shifts, and engine braking into turns while keeping boost up.
