If you get a free EVO IX ECU pin with every stock ID, then send em on over! lol

I just requested a free sample from JAE, hopefully I can get one at least so I have something in my hand to work with.

what you guys think about this (this is probably on going to help guys run ecu boost controller):

Most failsafes that comes with these alky kits has some type of a flow sensor that triggers a solenoid by a ground to go to wga pressure. well how bout we take that ground run it to IC sprayer to activate the alter map. the alternate map "hopefully" will have a less agressive boost/timing/fuel curve.

just an idea, I know you guys have a pretty good one know.

Way ahead of ya. I designed a control box that accepts 3 ground inputs, 3 +12Vdc inputs, and 3 +5V inputs which any or all of these inputs would instantly switch from the aggressive 'alky' maps to the safer alternate maps(these will be available for anyone who would want me to make them one as well). Its also great with widebands like the zeitronix unit which has an alarm output with user adjustable parameters so you can set it so if it is over 3500rpm, TPS is above 70% and the AFR is leaner than say....13:1, it triggers the output and the safer maps get used. Its gonna be sweet once we get this taken care of.

If your buddy can find out how to get the pins cheap, he'll save us a hassle. Mitsu will only offer him the entire harness though, almost sure of it.

I knew it , been using a gm 3 port to switch my mbc from to wga pressure when i have a failure. I think I have a new weekend project, and a mbc for sale.

I can get them for $0.08 a piece for the VIII's and I can get them individually so I'm all set there. Just see what he can do for the IX pins.

They are made by JAE (Japan Aviation Electronics) and the part # is MX7-SGC3-7000.

There might be several unused wired pins already existing in some of the connectors that you can snip at it's terminated end (spare), pull through it's harness (if it's a straight run), and depin from the ecu connector ready to repin at whatever ecu pin your interested in.

You won't even have to crimp it with whatever special tool is needed (back end of dikes ) since it's already done for you. Free mitsu grade wire too

I was thinking that might be a last resort. The EDM/JDM's probably use all of them but at least the USDM's might have some unused wires from the ICS system. I don't have a USDM IX available to test so someone else will have to check.

by the way great write up jamie.

but lookin @ this pix you can remove the switch and just use the flow sensor to alter maps.

set the prepatch for something like:

>4v alternate failsafe map (clogged nozzle, etc)
>2.5v alky map (normal flowing)
<2.5v alternate failesafe map (pressure drop)

this will all depend on how your flow sensor is calibrated, but user should have the option to change those values. use a mulitimeter to measure the voltage during "normal" flow.

you can get the pressure switch from www.mcmaster.com for

3460K61
(Same as 3460K15)
Pressure Switch 20 to 120 PSI Actuation Range
In stock at $19.80 Each

I know you guys got this pretty wrapped up
