Here's some useful info:

Never get gas while truck is filling pump reservoir, all the accumilated crud gets suspended and goes right into your tank

Never fill up with hand trigger on pump full open, you end up paying for fumes in addition to fuel.

And a new one, 10% 93 oct is a rip off for 0% 93 at same price.

Jamie,

Ethanol is added (in-line blending) to the gasoline at the terminal-rack during the loading of the trucks. Since Ethanol has a higher octane level, the octane level of gasoline has been corrected (at refinery), so that the finished product would have the minimum Octane level posted on the pump. For example our Bronze grade, with 10% ethanol (where available), has a minimum octane level of 87.

If you need further clarifications in this regard please feel free to contact us.

Thanks

Hope that answers your doubts of me,lol.
Yeah, this is what i wanted to do, except was reluctant to find email addresses . I also read a bunch of stuff from www.epa.gov
It seems that you are absolutely right and we are not getting any free cheese here in the form of higher octane.

TOLD YA! lol jk

Yeah, it would be nice if there was enough cheese to go around but they are greedy bastards lol.

A ton of the links I had were from that website. I'm still determined to find where I saved my list.....took months to compile.

Every gas company has an ethanol mix. Whether you know it or not, there are only like 3 different gasoline distributors in the US. Most gas stations like HESS or the random convenience stores you see just purchase their gas from one of those name brand distributors. Exxon/Mobil is the biggest. I love seeing people pull into a Mobil instead on an Exoon right down the road because "Mobil's gas is better". I worked for Exxon and there was a Mobil across the street. The gas truck would go fill up our tanks, and then go fill up Mobils tanks with the same truckload, lol.

They were required to find an approved substitute for MTBE which was widely used but it wreaks havoc on the natural water systems and isn't all that kind to mother nature I guess. Almost all gas companies simply replaced it with ethanol since it was already readily available. MTBE was a closer candidate to gasoline and had no ill effects on gas mileage like ethanol does.

I rock the Cenex 94. I had to adjust my tune as the AFR's jumped almost a point as compared to Chevron 92. But my car loves that 94 action. My mileage went down 3 mpg from 28 to 25 though.

Yeah I run 11.7 on it and if I put in normal 92 the AFR drops to like 10.7ish and the car really falls on it's face. It's a noticeable difference.
