i didnt think that you needed any electrical bits to operate sas?
How does ecu operate sas? i tought it was run by vacum, sam as BOV on throtle lift.
thanks

BarryC, I just need to pull pin 11 and repin to pin 53 then try the tables?

The USDM rom and what I thought was the correct table is in fact incorrect as far as I can tell. I will go ahead and take the hardware though and try to figure out the software while it is in transit.

Youngsyr, if you can double check with your mechanic and see if he has the harness that would be great, but apparently isnt necessary.
JohnBradley, how come you think the table is incorrect? I want to aide in your search as well although I'm a bit rusty with my hex editing. PM me so we can discuss it and hopefully knock this out with more heads working on it.

Could silex and JB confirm they're still interested please?
Still interested. This will be interesting to test and get working. Be nice to get the cabling and boost solenoid though if possible. Did it also come with the banjo bolts and any hardware to mount everything?

The numbers I thought were correct were based on progression only. As I recall when i entered JCS' numbers in my ROM it was a no go. I will doublecheck when I get home tonight and see if I just made an address error or what happened.

In fact... I bet it is nothing more than a one way vacuum resorvoir. With the solenoid acting as a purge.

Unfortunately these cannot be sourced this side of the pond easily either.

If you have the stuff listed / canister and solenoid I would be interested in it.
For future referance if your immediate buyers follow thru.

An open outlet to obtain this hardware would be nice for us over here. Eventually someone will figure out how to implement it. Its only a matter of time at this point IMO. I've watched this stuff go from conversation to common practice too many times in here.

So put me down for a set. If you cannot get the canisters/solenoids I will take what I can get. If you would PM approx price you are looking to get, I would appreciate it.

I just had a brainstorm for activating this (or maybe a drizzle).

What if--

We can just leave the BCS hooked up to the factory plug and use the BDEL/WGDC maps to control it. If we cant do anything about fueling other than the the old fashioned method of richening the map, oh well thats already being done.

I have to think my logic through but the BCS is just a valve that uses load to cycle the solenoid, so the ECU knows load and will open the solenoid above or below a certain load to control boost.

I think I need a flow chart...and some sleep...or some booze...

I'll send hookers if you figure it out.

I wonder why the canister is implemented in this scenario. I know what it was used for on the cyclone. It basically stores engine vacuum to hold the CIM actuator diaphragm to keep the butterflies shut. When the conditions are met the solenoid vents the vacuum stored in the line, and presto... butterflies open.

What the hell is it being used for with ALS?

Vacuum switch to the second DV instead of vacuum when the TB closes I would assume. Seems easier to open it like a normal DV though...or maybe it keeps the primary DV (BOV) from opening and directs all the air to the exhaust manifold?

Youngsyr...my parts arent here yet man...

I'd like to see the line routing in more detail to see what's going where. That might clear up why its being used.

My only suggestion is to make sure you rename the tables so they don't get mixed up
