PATCH: TephraMod V5
#331
Just for people's future reference, I commented out the original BDEL table, changed this entry in the tephra section from
to
Now I see the proper psia units in the alternate table and don't even have to scale the values from the original. Schweet! Now as soon as my JDM sensor arrives I'll report back in!
(disregard the settings, I'm just getting into those)
Code:
<table name="Alternate Boost Desired Engine Load" category="Mods" address="4a1e8" type="2D" scaling="Load8">
Code:
<table name="Alternate Baseline Boost" category="Mods" address="4a1e8" type="2D" scaling="psia8">

After reading 23 pages of wisdom i am lost. I watched the video for installing the patch into the rom and everytime i try to save the updated rom in rommetadata folder i get an error saying Cannot create the file. Make sure that the path and file name are correct. I know that i am being out smarted by the computer on a really simple level but for some reason i am just not seeing what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah its vista. So just resave it to the desktop the move it to the correct folder? Sorry i am slow tonight i am usually in bed 2 hours ago. Tephra this is looking like a simply amazing patch i only wish you had time to do some 1G DSM work. Oh and just as soon as i can get this done you can count on a donation from me, i just hate trying to guess what other peoples time is worth.
Edit: Tephra that got it thank you! I am gonna finish update and find some money. You are definitely a genius.

cool - since your a newbie (2 posts :P) just be sure to test the patch on your car before driving at full noise
not only will you find any bugs you will also learn how the patch works and what to expect (especially in relation to NTLS)

Ok went out and test 94170014 v5.1 seems to still have some type of turbo correction problem. My standard map target load is around 240 and my alt map is 290ish. Well switch to the alt map, and kept wondering why I could not get boost to pass 25lbs. Looked thru the logs and boost error is showing 19.8 (which is the highest it can read if you over boost) all the way thru the pull. In the turbo error correction table I have 19.8 pulling back 13% of wga duty cycle. I could have used v5 by mistake but I will download v5.1 again and report back or try 94170015.

I'm in the process of copying my tables into the modded hex/bin.
I have a 'remedial' question that does not appear to have been asked. If I remove the #2 and #3 tables from the equation, which table do I apply to my tephra modded bin (that now only has #1 available)?
On my current tune...all three tables are slightly different in the 'High Octane Ignition Maps'.
I know this MAY be the answer but I still wanted to state it for anyone else that may have this question. My #2 and #3 tables appear to be the same. So I guess that answers my question?
Thanks for any input.
Ultimately I plan to 're-log' but still...just wanting to be careful.
Also - instead of 'marking' (in ecuflash) the tables #2 and #3 as 'do not use' as indicated in the video I modified the xml directly to remove the tables...is this okay to do or should I leave the xml alone and just mark the tables in the ecuflash program?
Sorry for such remedial questions...I just love the idea of having 'knock' sensor in my cel.
And THANK YOU very much for the VIDEO that was kick BUTT!!!!

did you update your alt WGDC as well?

Also, it is fine to change the name of the tables, delete them from the XML, or my personal preference to comment them out, and add a comment as to why you have done that. To do so, you wrap it in
Code:
