if I set the time below 20ms it stays 3 while logging 0xffff8425, even if I try to switch to standard map using the ADC input I stay in the alt map

But if I set it 20ms or above I can switch maps back and forth.

So I assume 10ms = 1/100 of sec

also if no ones tests 94170015 soon, I will here in a week or so with the Aquamist HFS-1 soon as my buddy gets his ride together

to follow up yes 94170014 works even if your coming from 94170008 ID like me, hell the 94170015 should work to coming from a 94170008 ID ( I will test this as well). Also like jack of trades stated earlier, when I upgrade to the 94170014 ID it cured my cylinder misfire code that we get with running aftermarket cams (comp 280s)

Thumbs up 96530006 (vs. 96940011)

So far, 95630006 is looking pretty good. Some observations, in no particular order:
  • CEL flashing at both levels appears to work fine. Haven't played with alternative flash speeds, so far just leaving it at the default 2000ms.
  • If "Auto-Valet" is set to 1, it doesn't matter what you've set "Enable Valet Mode" to, the car will still start up with valet enabled (and togglable). Fix is to disable Auto-Valet as well if you want to get rid of valet mode (I turned it off just to test that; I've actually been happily using valet mode, and had auto-valet turned on for a while, but turning it off every time I hopped in the car was annoying). I didn't test whether I could still toggle valet mode even with both "Enable Valet Mode" and "Auto-Valet" set to 0. Perhaps it would be a simpler idea to just get rid of the "Enable Valet Mode" option entirely, and have folks just set the valet RPM to their rev limit?
  • It looks like the NLTS load setting works fine until load drops below the threshold while still in NLTS, at which point it reverts to the stock rev limit. That is to say, with a load of 150, it works great for a very quick shift, but if you get locked out or otherwise take too long, load drops below the 150 load threshold, and it appear that NLTS disengages, leaving you to rev to the stock rev limit. I think this is the bug Dave mentions in the second post of this thread.
  • Haven't tested alternate maps yet, Jamie's harness is sitting on my kitchen table waiting to be installed (along with injectors and brake lines) this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to test that out soon.
  • Rear O2 simulator seems to work like a champ; the sensor isn't in my car anymore, and I'm emulating the heater with a resistor, and was previously using periphery values to just get rid of the CEL. This appears to actually get rid of it completely, as expected. Yay, I can pass emissions.
  • 96940011 users: I've been using this as a replacement for about a week now. No problems that I can see related to the switch in a daily-driven Evo. Flippin' sweet.
That's my feedback so far; kudos (and paypals) to Dave and Jamie for some very good stuff here. Dave, is there anything in particular you'd want tested on this ROM?

Anyone using the 96530006 have any weird issues with Idle RPMS oscillating up and down when AC is on? I have double-checked all my ISCV settings. Not a big deal, but just thought I'd ask.

My 2cents so far...

2Byte works perfectly

Map Switching is amazing. Love having a lo/hi boost option!!!

No other issues I have found personally other than that idle issue.

Any update on ECU-based Direct Boost Control yet? No rush, just curious.

Hmm, haven't had the A/C running yet (I officially hate you and your warm Florida weather). I'll give it a try at lunch and see what happens. (This kind of thing is probably better for the other thread, though.)

fostytou: rish197 is asking about direct boost control for the 96530006 ROM, which isn't available yet.

Yeah we came to realize a while back in this thread that its best to set the NLTS load threshold to "50" to basically bypass the feature. It happened to me once on my buddies Evo that I loaded with the patch and I certainly wasn't pleased when it happened, lol.

Just test 94170015 on my car and it works great. But if you set the time to 10ms it still stays in the alt map no matter what you do, but if you set it to 20ms then it can switch maps back and forth like normal.

I love 0015, I set my time to 20ms and with it hooked to my pressure switch it transfers instantly like I want. Meth pump comes on @ 9psi by 11psi I am in my alt map, thats fast with stock turbo spool (PERFECT). 0014 hooked up to my PS seem to delay even setting it to 20ms, dont get me wrong it works but for my setup I needed it to transfer extremely fast.

Tephra is GOD LOL

Question wonder if its safe to transfer all my knock filter tables from my old rom 0008 to my new rom 0015? All of sudden I am getting some really high part throttle knock that I never got before using my old rom ID 0008.

I never really had it in my face before with the CEL for it, but I'm getting a ton of knock in high gear (4th & 5th) lately around 2500-3300RPM and at 2-8psi with partial throttle. Generally just 3 counts, but it seems to happen every day when I'm on the highway. I'm going to ask Chris Black about it on tuesday. I'm hoping its got something to do with lean spool or is just some phantom knock that the ECU isn't paying attention to.

having had knock in the lower load areas since I started logging I am not seeing any difference in that knock having gone to the 0015 from 0008. My feeling at seeing any change in the filters was anticipation that I might loose some "knock".
Unfortunately I adjusted some timing areas UP when I made the rom switch (I'm an impatient sog), so I can't contribute as to 0015 effects. I will say I did not increase my knock activity even with the higher timing added. In short I can't find a fault with the 0015.
I would keep the newer filters.
You might try dropping a few degrees out of those cliff top timing cells right before you see the knock but three degrees is just on the verge of worry. Is that assumption correct tuners?
What is your cell/knock @ load set at ?

One annoyance, my hi/ low load tps and hi/low load open loop chart numbers are like 1.3 numbers instead of percents numbers since I did the 0015/V5 mod. ?

Do you have lean spool disabled? That was the first thing I did when I started tuning myself. Lean spool can send you on never-ending wild goose chases.
