Correct on the romid.

My wife and I just had a son this morning, so I won't be able to get to your questions till this weekend. I did get your PM and will send you the log when I'm home this weekend...

I was seeing upwards of 25 counts of knock from low load areas all the way to WOT with high 12 AFR's... Reverted back to a pre-v5 rom and the knock went away. 0 counts of knock with perfect AFR in the mid 11's. Same maps between both roms.

Cheers-
E

how can that be? if you had the same fuel/timing,mivec as your original ROM how can his ROM V5 cause all those knocks?all he did is make it so the maps are combined into 1 for timing and boost tables.
anyone else experience this problem?

I did notice high counts of knock in higher gears in low load <100. It is all part throttle in what i would call i-should-downshift-areas. The problem is i cant find any logs of those areas PRE v5. I am considering loading on a pre v5 map and seeing what i can find.

damm more than 1 person having issues, makes me kinda scared and wanna ditch it also. Maybe the saftely filters of the OEM are compromised by accident.
I dont wanna find out the hard way.

it doesnt make sense though because i think such high knock counts would be audible whether by tinging or the rod through the block.

No problems running 88590015 patch here.

All conditions seem to work fine except did not test on alt maps. I dyno the car yesterday on this patch. No knock AFR right where they were before the patch.

im not sure if this is related but recently after i had installed v5 rom, in 2nd gear i've been getting knocks on low load up to 6 counts of knock.. i decreased timing by 1 on those areas..and still getting up to 4 knocks..on my previous rom i wasn't getting knocks in these areas..hmm im still tinkering around to see if it will go away..

Just tuned a Evo 9 the other day with 88590015. Checked in all gears.

Seems ok to me.

One thing I did do that others might not have is I still changed all the different maps you usually do when not using V5. (3 timing maps, 3 boost maps)

I did it out of habit.

I posted a few pages back that I was getting a knock warning in 5th at low load between about 2500-3300rpmish... but not always. I felt no reduction in timing and didn't see boost coming down at all, so I figured the ECU was just filtering and the flash mod was still displaying it even though the ecu seemed to not-react (because it was filtering it) I've never seen a >8 count in this situation. its probably once a day on the highway, but not too often (28 miles each way through a bit of traffic)

In a sense you're saying that you did NOT delete #2 and #3 respectively as quoted in the instructions? You just left them in there and copied Map #1 to the #2 and #3 anyways?
