need help: new xml files for upcoming ECUFlash release

Hey Folks,

Now that the original definition files for ECUFlash are starting to show their age and need updating, I've been bugging Colby (ECUFlash author) for the last few weeks to let me give him updated xml files to incorporate into a future ECUFlash release. He's agreed to incorporate what I send him probably in the next release of ECUFlash.

Things I would like to update in the xml files are (in no particular order):

- Add Dynamic Advance tables
- Add MUT tables
- Add recently found boost tuning tables
- Add lean spool tables
- Delete incorrect anti-lag tables
- Delete unused MIVEC table
- Delete unused BDEL and WGDC tables
- Fix BCS enable/disable tables
- Add coolant temp, air temp, and fuel temp scaling tables
- Add periphery tables
- Rename some of the scalings to more appropriate values
- Add some new scalings
- Something I missed? (Proven tables only for stock ROMs please)

I can do the 885900XX.xml and evo9base.xml files. I will also probably do this for the Evo 7 98640014 ROM xml as there is someone who wants to pay me to add some features to their Evo 7 ROM. Are there some people here who can set me up with these additions/fixes/deletions for all the other Evo ROM xmls?

I'd like to get it all assembled for submission to Colby within three weeks.

Cool!

I would really like to see some sort of SVN/CVS/RCS control on these files, maybe he can build in an automatic updater into EcuFlash?

One (or few) people have authority to change the openecu.org files and then they get sucked down to the EcuFlash client!

I will email you (next week?) 88580013 and 88580014!

Cheers
D.

He does have a CVS, but he hasn't let me in yet. I think he wants to see the kind of product I submit before he lets me in.

Next week or two is great. Thanks.

Maybe suggest the idea of auto-updating xml client to him - would save us ALL a lot of pain

Only if the auto-update allows the ability to opt out and if its off by default. Stops bad "updates" from going out and will save no end of trouble later on.

What would be better would be to have the program made truly open source and then it can actually progress a lot faster.

hehe yeah - would be nice.

I posted a feature request thread - I want ecuflash to load the XML from the same directory as the .HEX if it exists, that way I can have different XML's in different directories WITH the HEX's

I just want to see a public source release, rather than the current "please, can I have a copy" stuff.

The "open source" part of that logo isn't quite true. (Yes, I know I harp on this. I'll go sit in a corner and be quiet now.)

If we're requesting features: bit-level representation in the interface (think periphery values for example, represented as labeled checkboxes for each bit).

Yeah, I've already asked Colby for that several times. I just reminded him again two nights ago. :-)

There's more than a few people in this forum that, if I ever meet them in person, will be getting a beverage of their choice.

94170015: ?
96420007: ?

I'll be putting together my xml files this week. If you like, I can comment the files and send them off to you as a template for what needs to be added. Let me know.
