Can't install Evoscan 2.1

Since my v.99 stopped working, I went and installed the v2.1 today, but when I tried to open it I get error messages. I did not pay the extra money but I can't even get to the screen where I enter my serial. Do I need to remove anything else other then uninstalling the evoscan program??

That's an odd error message. Usually that would come up if there was a hard bug in the code, but then other people should be seeing it as well. Corrupt exe maybe?

Did you uninstall .99 before trying the 2.1? If not uninstall reboot then try to reinstall 2.1

It might some protection since you did not pay for upgrade and had registered .99 version on there?

I personally would pay the ten bucks then you could ask Hamish for help as well.

Good luck

Double checked .net framework, I'm running the latest ( just dl'd 2.0, 3.5, sp's ect.) as well as windows update. DL'd Evoscan twice, rebooted, ect. still no go..I need to get my car tuned before this weekend since I am planning on gong to the track.
I don't mind paying the 10 dollars or whatever either, just want to get this thing running.
I even re installed v.98 and get the same problem
It's a miracle I have not broken this laptop yet!!

i would uninstall the old version then do a search on your registry for anything with the word evoscan in it.

Drivers/install is horked. Uninstall from the UI then Go registry surfing for EvoScan stuff, delete it all, delete the hard directory (if its still there) and then try install again.

This is a generic .NET error.

I would reinstall all the Frameworks and patches from www.windowsupdate.com and try again

I've done it three times, tried .net framework 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5 to no avail, up to date as far as windows update says too.
