evoscan when I start logging RPM goes to +/-2500

when I start logging with evoscan the RPM goes to +/- 2500 for 1 min or so then drop back to regular idle for a couple seconds then back to 2500 rpm...
Is that normal?
Also all my logs are totally off
RPM looks like that that was a 2500-5000 rpm pull in 3rd

1, is your laptop on battery or car power? does not using car power solve it?

2, is the white plug removed? some people have difficulties logging with this plug connected.

3, you may have to remove and reinstall evoscan on your laptop.

4, baud rate and wideband set up correctly?

these are the things I worked with when something similar happened to me.

the reinstall was the finial answer, but I think that was because the reinstall reset the baud rate for me.
