Newbie immobiliser help required
hi, can anyone tell me how to ADD an immobiliser code to my ralliart ecu? i have a european e8 260 & i would like to know if its possible to add the immobilser code from my standard ecu to the ralliart one as id like added security this offers. the ralliart seems to have this feature dissabled and will start with any key.i've already tried copying the immobilser code over using ecuflash & i ve checked the rom afterwards and it has changed the code, but still the car starts without a transponder key.am i over looking something?

ok ive been doing alot of reading both on here and on aktive matrix ive found periphery0 & added the table to my xml file which is 96530006 if this helps.but the value in there is 56da on both of my roms the ralliart one and the standard one.if this was the problem wouldn't the values be different in each one?

i dont think theres a hardware issue.i have two ecus the standard one that came with my car & a ralliart one. with the standard on installed the immobiliser works like it should. with the ralliart one installed a key with no transponder will start the car.to check the hardware theory i flashed my ralliart rom to my standard ecu.& i get the same results the standard ecu ( with ralliart map) starts with any key coded or not coded to the ignition so there must be something software related??

Huh, that is odd indeed. I would surmise that if the hardware checks out then the immobiliser software is altered somehow in the Ralliart MAP, but as far as I have seen in the dissection of the periphery addresses there was just one Immobiliser bit. Out of curiosity have you added F9A, the so called Periphery00? I am wondering if it is anything other than 0002.

i couldn't really find much info about how to add Periphery00 to my xml file so i changed the address for Periphery0 to f9a in ecuflash to see what the value was. will that work ok ? the value it shows with it changed is 0004

Its entirely possible the memory location used for "immobiliser" function is either completely missing or nonfunctional anyway.
Typically the only time we've heard people ask about it is to disable it, which it does on cars equiped with it.
We generally agree with your desire to retain it, most of us feel if you disable it, it just makes the car easier to steal. At least to drive away with it if there's a copy of the key.
