Safe Boost for Stock Turbo

Hey Guys!

New to the forum and to the Evo World. After doing a few track events at VIR in a stock (except for suspension) 350z, I decided it was time to step up to an Evo and start building a "track" car. Luckily (my wife strongly disagrees) for me I found myself buying a caged 2006 RS, TTA car from Florida (some of you may already know the car).

With that the engine is completely stock, except for an intake and exhaust. I took delivery of the car on Saturday and I'm ready to start making more power. I've ordered a Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller, Air Fuel Guage and some other small items.

With the stock turbo and fuel system, what is a safe max boost?

Thanks...and lots of questions to follow.

Matt

Safe boost levels really depend on the RPM ...

But, with a linear boost control system, 21 or 22 psi would be fine on a IX time attack car.

with your mods, i would recommend sticking to ~19 psi...

Since the car will likely not be licensed and only ran on the track, I will always run 100 (at a minumum).

With a good tune, I don't see why 23-24 psi peak would be an issue with the mods you have, for track use.

Every Evo is different though.
