EvoScan Actuator SAS Mode
EvoScan Actuator SAS mode sends a requestID 0xC3 to the vehicle, and continues to send 0xF9 and will wait until it stops receiving 0xFF (normally the car will send 0x00 when its finished with the actuator or test)
I have in my notes that SAS stands for "speed adjusting screw" anyone know what this function does, and how long it lasts?

Yep, Secondary Air system. BarryC or Cossie have the PDF's for it (well hardware end anyhow) i cant find them on this computer
Even though my E6 s equipped with the SAS hardware ive yet to get antlag enabled, even through the Tables in Rom (e7), bangs and pops on overrun can be mapped in using fuel and igniton retard in high vac areas but its not Anti-lag.
Ecutek can add Antilag to the evo 6 so im sure its somethng in ROM.

John, have you the Hardware for the SAS system retrofitted?? it sounds like you have the ingredients for Anti-lag but not the extra air thats pumped into the manifold to cause ALS effects

I didnt look at my trims Hamish. I will hook it up later and see if it did anything to the trims. I have a feeling it might make a small STFT change but if the software is there for the SAS it probably ignores it. Kind of like the knock that the stationary rev limit generates and how it doesnt effect the octane flag (as I recall).

As for the PDF for the sas, it's in the mitsi wsm, but as tephra says it stands for Secondary Air System, and it seems it's primary function was just for Hologamation purposes, so that could use it for full on Anti-lag on the WRC cars

Hmmm - I expected the SAS actuator to be the actuator for the correct adjusting of the basic idle speed. Manual says that using actuator No.30 on MUT II/III - "this holds the idle speed control servo at the basic step to adjust the basic idle speed".
If the actuator is not released (manually) - it will be released after 27 minutes automatically.
So it should hold the ISC somewhere on zero I assume (or on tha value pre-set in the idle map) - so that you can adjust the idle speed with the idle screw properly.

tested and confirmed - the SAS actuator "parks" the idle stepper motor - so you can adjust the base idle rpm with the screw correctly without the ISC to interfere.

yes - evoscan 2.5 has this actuator request built-in - Actuator SAS. Start the engine and activate the actuator from evoscan. After you cancel it - the idle stpper will start correcting again. But at least you BISS screw will be setup properly.
