tephra, I'm getting some nasty false knock at 3500rpm like clockwork, this started when I installed a header. It's perfectly in time with some exhaust buzzing noise there. Short of changing headers I'm not able to work around it with any amount of timing/fuel changes including race gas. Currently I've disabled the knock sensor completely so I can enjoy my car again since the tune is perfect and slightly conservative. However, I'd like to be able to turn off the knock sensor from 0-4000rpm where I'm not concerned about knock since my 35R doesn't do much until 4500-5000rpm on.

what are you thoughts on this? I understand it would be terribly dangerous in the hands of a newb that wants more power regardless of the consequences but it could be tremendously helpful for people that are plagued with false knock at certain rpm's. It can really ruin the driving experience for some people.

let me know...

Thank you I was getting highly frustrated trying to figure out why I couldn't enable my ALTMAPs like i used to. It turns out that I'm just not ap[ying attention. (story of my life )

mellon and I switched over to to the 94170015 rom from 96420007 and trying this immobililzer defeat thingie coz car won't start. Immobilizer code is set to FFFF. But, car will not start.

I tried adding following to 015 rom definition, but cannot see the table show up in ECU Flash to change value from 56DA to 56D2. A search thread said this would work...

<table name="ECU Periphery0" category="Misc" address="faa" type="1D" level="1" scaling="Hex16"/>

EDIT - I tried switching category to Ecu Periphery since I have cat 2 for EVAP/EGR fix. Also, tried changing level to 2 and that did not work either...

EDIT no. 2- I am such a n00b. I had a carriage return and that seemed to be causing this issues!

This works and I learnt something today...

One question - Can I put it under ECU Periphery cat instead of Misc so I can keep track of changes together?

Coz it wasn't out yet when we started tuning the car, Tephra.

Is there a downside running to 011 other than immobilizer, sir? I could eventually switch over, but I want to spare Chris (Mr. Mellon) the hassle coz we just switched to the 015 map till we get the car running.

Thanks, tephra!

well I prefer people to use the native ROMID when possible.

But if your happy with 94170015 then go for it - it shouldn't matter...

USDM 96940011 = AUS/SA 96530006.

How hard would it be to get the alt map function using the pedal instead of a switch?

I never use valet mode but I run race gas nearly every weekend. I would love to be at a track and simply switch over to a race gas map by using a pedal method. This would eliminate the need for non ICS cars to wire in a switch.

FYI.... I found it much easier to get the XML to pan out after I upgraded to the lastest ECUFlash software.

tephra - the 015 ROM ID I switched to - Is it an 05 or 06 native ROM? I am having funky idle issues and wondering if has something to do with throttle hang etc...

Thanks!

I think there is a bug in the 015 code when using ecuflash 1.30. I always get the ... variable on the NLTS threshold value even when using an XML from a fresh install.

I then used cossies XML file from an unknown release of ecuflash. That fixed the ... for NLTS but screwed up injector sizing.

Then I downloaded Ecuflash 1.39 which is the current release. I was able to make this work like a champ on my PC but it will not connect to the ECU of my car. It won't even read from the ECU but it does show the colorized icons when I plug in the USB connector so it does see a connection.

So I'm pretty much f'd. I cannot find a new than 1.30 release or older than 1.39 release and neither one works. I've been tinkering with the Tephra mods since the NLTS and all has been fine until this release.

Does anyone have 1.39 working on an older cable?
Does anyone have functional XML for 1.30?
If not, where can I get 1.34 or 1.35?

Its not a bug - I just expect the XML to already have a ThrottlePercent scaling already defined (most doo)

Just copy that scaling from another XML into your 15 XML..
